The Touch 95.3 Signs Off Wednesday 8/31

it is a bit of a slap in the face to say the "lack of advertiser support" was the reason for this move. I don't expect that the ESPN radio station is making boatloads of cash either. They have to be planning to move the Phils onto the FM stick for the upcoming post-season run.

Don't get me wrong, it's the right move. But let's not try and blame the "lack sponsor and advertiser support" as the sole reason for this change.

Agree. Cumulus can afford to experiment with polka on 95.3 if they like. There isn't any station in the area carrying the Phils that has any kind of coverage after dark, and that's still pretty much true after 9/1. WLBR had the chance to do this with 100.1 a long time ago.

The local sports fan will keep their AM presets on 1400 and 1460, and toggle between the two.
