First, long live Bob & Stephanie. KTLA did something this year they really never did before - they perked up the graphics big time, adding lots of little factoids on what was on the floats, mostly. Unfortunately, they were not logo bug compliant. Too many times words got stuck under the KTLA5 bug. It's even worse for stations like KMYQ here, whose MYNetwork-style bug covered both lines.
Second: kudos to KTLA for replaying the previous year's coverage overnight, leading into the 2010 telecast. This should become a tradition, though I'd start it at 2 AM and run the parade uninterrupted.
Third: You will notice that, from last year, the parade now is planned to end right before 10 AM, where once it ended somewhere around 10:15 to 10:20 - on a good day. Everyone's now on the same clock, includng NBC which in the past bailed at 9:30 PT for the Gator Bowl.
It was not, but I don't see any reason why it shouldn't. KMYQ here took the feed and ran it without breaks, as far as I could tell. No Backstage or Countdown shows, however.
Travel should be stripped of the privilege. Butchering up KTLA's parade coverage should not be permitted. There's a reason why there's those "pregnant pauses" in the commentary when a band appears.
HGTV did not utilize KTLA's feed at all, and never has. They had their own people present on Orange Grove. It would be nice if they'd schedule a rerun, though.
