The TS612

Well, it's seems it's getting to the EOL for that wonderful device.
For us that have to keep them going a little longer, the keypad membranes are getting really expensive. And who knows how much longer they'll be available!

Has anyone come up with a better idea to refurbish those little conductive pads?

I don't know if it will work in this case, but I have fixed TV remote controls with conductive pads that went bad by taking a paper hole punch to some aluminum duct tape and sticking the anti-holes (I don't have a better word for them) that are left over from the punching process onto the worn-out pads. Call me crazy and cheap - but it worked.

I need to find something that'll stick to the rubber. When I have tried to put metal on/in the membrane it fell off in short order. I even tried a conductive pad repair kit and that failed to stick.

Tried that high-temp foil duct tape. Turned into a gooey mess after a few months.
When you've got someone mashing the button 30 times a day it doesn't last long.

Little update.
The foil dots seem to be holding up! Only found one that had started to creep off the button.

One other thing. Several surfaces started getting flakey. Hanging up on callers and other weirdness.
Checking the pc board "contacts" for resistance found that some had fairly low resistance when they should be in the megaohm range.
MEK and gentle washing got rid of left over rubber pad debries. No hard scrubbing as that imbeds the conductive gunk deeper into the pc board. Made a big differece in the response of all the buttons even the older origional conductive rubber pads.
