The Twins get typical Citadel welcome

A full page ad in the Sunday Northshore newspaper (apparently paid for by former radio sponsors) bemoaning the fact that Citadel has booted The Twins, Amy and Carol, off the air. Who would have ever guessed these two amateur broadcasting bimbos, brought to the airwaves by Sid Levine, could have stayed on the air as long as they did?

Didn't see the ad myself (must have only been in the WEST St. Tammany papers), but didn't they get the same exact welcome when Citadel took over 92.3 a month before they "turned on the Lite"?

Oh well, they'll be back on 94.9/7, I bet.<P ID="signature">______________

I think after you read the ad you'll feel different. It
blasts not only Citadel as a "faceless, nameless conglomerate"
but also blasts Northshore saying "We thought you knew how
important they (caroll & amy) were to the Northshore community
and the local businesses". "you say you have no room for
them on any of the four radio stations you operate." and it's
titled "Open Letter to Northshore Broadcasting and Eloise Dowdy".

If Dowdy was going to keep them he would not have moved them
over to 106.1 in the first place. They've known for at least 9
months that 106.1 would be gone. If there was some secret deal
to put them on 94.7/94.9 then why don't the Twins know it. If they
did they wouldn't be handing out resumes like they were last week.
The ad, even though it wasn't run by them, was approved by them. That
would pretty much seal any chance of them ever going back to Dowdy.

One of the first things every person in this business has to learn
is that you never burn a bridge behind you. You never know when you
might have to walk across it again.

Hey Smashedcd

I like your thing at the bottom that says "note to tv land, bring back wkrp". That is one of my favorite shows.
