The Upper Midwest visits Charleston

For me, in Charleston, SC, it was a longer, one to two hour opening, stations coming in all over the dial.

101.9- CKFX-FM, North Bay, Ontario, "102 FM The Fox." 939 miles away, came in with a live remote.

97.3, KRVY, Starbuck, MN, "97.3 the River," heard ads for Dragon boat races, jingle for "Central Minnesota Weather", 1217 miles away.

98.7- KSMA-FM, Osage (Mason City), IA, "98.7 Kiss Country." Completely over semi-local WYKZ Beaufort.

101.3- KDWB, Richfield, MN, heard Shane Co. ad, and ad promoting Jonas Brothers concert. 1106 miles away.

102.1- KEEY, St. Paul, MN, heard personality saying "K-102", country music. 1106 miles away.

102.9- WLTE, Minneapolis, MN, heard ads for Sears Auto Center, Consolidated Credit Counseling Services, then "Lite FM" jingle. 1106 miles away.

Also heard several stations with Paul Harvey around 101, could be KOWZ Blooming Prarie, MN, and KBHP Bemidji, MN or KLQL Luverne, MN.

On probably a dozen other frequencies, there were UnIDs, but the dial from around 12noon-2pm was packed, to say the least. On 99.1, mixing in, I heard CBC Toronto, most likely, mixing it with Jacksonville.

Now, it is back to somewhat normal conditions, but Melbourne, FL and Jacksonville are still coming in, like usual.

Anybody else in the state have good DX?

Out of curiosity, are you using special equipment? Or this is just stuff you pick up oin the ouse or car radio? (I am totally ignorant to the dx thing).

I have a Grundig S350 radio, with just the built-in antenna on it. It was a very good reception, as I have picked up many distant stations before with it, including Toronto, Buffalo, and Tulsa in Charleston.
