The Valleys New Hit Music Alternative?

A

I found this station on the tune in app through 181.fm. I have been listening to The Point "The New Hit Music Alternative". I have really been liking the music mix and it reminds me when the Zone was Modern/Ac "sounding". With all of the overlap between Mix, Peak, Hot, My... possibly now is the time for someone to go in this direction. I believe many of the music I have heard is not really played or played at all on phoenix radio. Just something to think about....

Here is a recent playlist:

3 Doors Down - Kryptonite
Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know
Natalie Merchant - Kind & Generous
Incubus - Drive (Album Version)
Imagine Dragons - It's Time
Better Than Ezra - Desperately Wanting
Reeve Carney f/Bono And The Edge - Rise Above 1
Train - 50 Ways To Say Goodbye
Melissa Etheridge - Come To My Window (A/C Mix)
Rob Thomas - This Is How A Heart Breaks (Radio Edit)
Five For Fighting - World (Album Version)
Linkin Park - Burn It Down
Liz Phair - Extraordinary
Guster - Do You Love Me
Gin Blossoms - Follow You Down
Fun. - Some Nights (Radio Edit)
The Killers - Somebody Told Me
The Script - Nothing (Radio Edit)
Jason Mraz & Colbie Caillat - Lucky
Live - Lightning Crashes (Radio Edit)
Junior Doctor - Uh Oh (Hot AC Mix)
Keane - Somewhere Only We Know
Kris Allen - The Vision Of Love
Matchbox Twenty - She's So Mean (Radio Edit)
Marcy Playground - Sex & Candy
Evanescence - My Imortal (No Guitars Version)
Gavin DeGraw - In Love With A Girl (Radio Edit)
Grouplove - Tongue Tied
Adam Clayton & Larry Mullen - Theme From "Mission:Impossible"
Plain White T's - Rhythm Of Love (Radio Edit)
Uncle Kracker - In A Little While (Radio Edit)
Neon Trees - Everybody Talks
Jason Mraz - I'm Yours (Radio Edit)
Walk The Moon - Anna Sun (Radio Version)
Train - When I Look To The Sky (Album Version)
Fastball - Out Of My Head (Album Version)
Phillip Phillips - Home

I'd classify this more as Triple A than full blown alternative. The playlist looks a lot like what 92.9 The Mountain in Tucson would have played before their format switch. Or Cities 97, Clear Channel's poster boy for Triple A in Minneapolis-St. Paul.

Yeah not true alternative but I guess an "alternative" to what Mix, Peak, Hot, and My play ;-)
