The Wease show vs. The break room (on WCMF) ?

The two competing morning shows. The fox 95.5 against WCMF 96.5. Who do you think is doing the better morning show? Who do think is winning in the ratings?

Wease use to be umm ok I don't listen to him at all anymore. Not sure about the Break Room, these days I listen to WHAM in the mornings.

Take a wild guess as to who I think is the better show. Actually it is not even close. If you enjoy entertaining radio, funny, great music, you will enjoy the Wease show. His new crew is great and now they have added Billy D'Ettorre as the new producer. He and Wease work well together. On the other hand, you like the hateful/mean radio, you would go with the other show. They got rid of 2 of the better personalities left over from the Wease days (Sally & Lumpy), so there is not much left to that show.

Not that I trust Arbitron ratings that much, but for those who look at the latest 12+ numbers, neither station is doing that well.

Granted they are 12+ numbers and not the demographics both stations are going for, but I found it interesting and was pleased to see WDKX in second place. I guess localism can work after all!

all sports all morning. i dont listen to either one anymore, but if i ever turn the station it it would be for wease the breakroom i'm told sucks pretty bad.

Wease will never be the "powerhouse" he once was and the "Break Room" morons are just that - morons. High school humor at it's worst.

I'm not big on "morning shows." I either listen to news (WHAM and/or WXXI-AM) or music (WLGZ). Never listened to Wease or Break Room and don't plan on starting.

I'm another who listens to neither. I used to listen to the Fox in the morning because they DID play music vs the Wease on CMF. I prefer music or intelligent talk, neither of which I find in the morning on those shows.

Nope. Zip. Nada.

Another Quinn and Rose listener on WYSL.com; then on 1040, when at full power, while I'm on the road...way down yonder, here in the Southern Tier. Too bad WLEA didn't have the "stones" to keep carrying Q & R.

WHAM may provide a good news service at drive time, but as long as it soils its brand by what it puts out the rest of the day, it's rare that I will tune in, especially having WXXI to turn to. I won't support an operation whose opinion output is a continuous stream of unrebutted insults. It's a shame really because the station is capable of being so much better, and I still remember its wonderful service during the ice storms of the '90s. At least there used to be some relief in the days of Allan Harris.

I was a Very Big Original Wease Show Fan.
I really like the Breakroom cast of characters. Bill Moran and Tommy are great, I think Dan needs some help... I wish Lumpy and Phil were still in the picture. I thought I would miss Sally...but I really don't...( I did like her while she was there...) I do find the show funny and relevant...Sometimes they go too far, but I like the audience interaction, I feel they are in tune with the Rochester area.
Even Pat Duffy is growing on me...
The New Wease cast... not a good fit for Rochester.
In radio, it's all about the chemistry, I don't feel it, The cast seems disconnected from Wease, maybe it's their age, but more likely it's just not a good fit generally.

I hope that shows survive, I like Wease and the stories he tells about his family, but I have stopped listening, because I just can't get in to the show.

Again, I look forward to listening to the Breakroom everyday!

I think the audience of this website...as proven by the previous comments are not the folks that listen to either show. He had a very successful radio talk show in another market...so even though he is out of the business, I still am interested the business side of radio.

Just offering my 2-cents.

I'm loving the Wease Show now. It was a bit rough early on, but I've been listening to the show more and more and have not gone back to the Break Room. The chemistry is really coming together and the cast is great. I love that he brought back Billy as a co-producer.

The big difference between the shows is that Wease will talk about all the great stuff in town, like events and shows. The Break Room really talks about the dirt and gossip, something the Buzz has been doing for a while now. Maybe it's an Entercom thing. They focus a lot on either high school or college humor. They seem to be geared more toward 18-34 instead of 25-54 like the rest of the station. (By the way, what the hell is Robinson?) It also doesn't really have great chemistry as compared to the Wease Show. It sounds like either Tommy or Billy has an opinion and the other just agrees. There's no conflict. And Dan..., well let's just say I agree with the previous post. A LOT of work needs to be done there. Pat Duffy is alright but I liked him before, when he was called Tommy!

Jamie, on Wease's show, has a completely different style to Tommy's. He's just as quick and he's been growing on me. And Lily is fantastic. I guess I'm the opposite of the last post.

I gotta agree about Wease's new show. It started out a little rough but has grown on me. No one knows more about what is going on around the Rochester than Wease. His co-hosts are catching on to the area. I hear Wease has found a little humility since his bout with illness and losing his gig. Maybe that's why I like the show. But local is always better.

Again, hate to break it to all of you....The wease show is not even in the ratings game and instead of going up in the ratings after all the commcericals, billboards, direct mail pieces, his rating swent down instead of up. 12 plus people is not the money demo and means nothing in the big scope of ad dollars to radio stations stations. Sales people sell with 25-54 numbers and Kimberly & Beck had a 15 share in the 25-54 and 25-49 demos...Wease Wham WYSL no bodies are not even on the radar...they are not even in the top 5 in fact Wease is like 8th overall and not even tops in his main male demo...WCMF is struggling but has more chemistry than Wease at this point who has lost complete touch with his radio audience. He humiliates his female partner and talks down to the rest of his cast and then you wonder why he has no chemistry...he is done..stick a fork in him..l.it was a nice ride but there is a new game in town that has been number one for 2 years like it or not

to be fair I've only sampled Kimberly & Beck but I didn't like it. Brother Wease is in a sad state if a show like that can beat him. Once the proud guy who beat Howard Stern. I have to say though that I like Kimberly & Beck better than the Breaking Room.

Opinions seem to be very divided.

Wease isn't in the ratings game? He's number 2 Men 25-54 - his core demo. He's climbing and his new show is starting to click.
