The Weather Channel Cleans House Even More

If you are a fan of Rich Johnson and Kristina Abernathy, you won't be happy with this news. They have been fired as well as some others. At least one other major name resigned as of next week, they'll be gone. I'm done with the Weather Channel. They run documentary crap every time I want a live person telling me weather. It was called The Weather Channel when it was first aired, now it's like MTV (no longer airing what it was originally brought to a channel lineup for).

I never really imagined NBC/Universal "sexifying" The Weather Channel in the way that ABC/Disney "Disneyfied" so many things in the late '90s. But nevertheless, here we are.

NOAA WeatherRadio....7 channels, around 162 MHz. SAME Alerting available on many receivers.

Or, your local NBC affiliate's replacement service for the old WeatherPlus.

Life has it's options. ;D

Pardon me for mentioning this, but when someone uses the word "name" in reference to a well-known person, that always seems strange to me. We may recognize them by name, but behind the name there is a person. I knew the sale of the Weather Channel would lead to terminations and cross-promotions with other networks under the same ownership. It's the usual outcome in this business.

Thank you!

I, for one, tune in to "NBC 2 News Now" (on WBBH-DT 20.2) if I want the latest weather report.

I liked Rich. He was one of the originals, wasn't he? Or, pretty close to it.

Mario-500, the reason I do not want to mention the "well known" person's name is I was told over the weekend but there has not been a press release as far as I know. I don't know what legal restrictions there are and didn't want to get them in trouble. They may have an agreement, I didn't remember to ask them. They are busy finalizing things, but after the 6th, I'm sure the name will be in print.
