The Weather Channel HD with no converter?

Is The Weather Channel HD showing up for anybody else? I'm suddenly seeing it with Comcast here in New Britain, CT. My TV's QAM tuner is picking it up on channel 74-1 with no converter. I think it was also elsewhere in SD on another channel. ???

I checked it again. The HD feed on channel 74-1 is the generic national feed. The SD simulcast is on channel 83-8, WITH the local forecasts, radar and advertising inserted by Comcast. The music bed used with either forecast was identical.

Depending on the cable company, the Weather Channel HD may or may not contain the local forecast. I have Verizon Fios and just get the standard national forecast on HD instead of local forecasts. If I want my local forecast I have to switch to the SD feed. I know some Cox systems have a local forecast on the HD feed. I think it has something to do with the software the cable company is using.
