The Weather Channel & Local Forecast music

In recent days, I have heard artists from Daughtry to Shawn Mullins and others on The Weather Channel's local forecasts. If they keep this up, it would probably benefit them to show title, artist and album on the screen at the beginning or end of each local forecast. Obviously that technology may not be there with the current local forecast systems that are in place (I forget the name of the system), but it's something to think about.

They couldn't play good music?

They are transitioning to vocal pop music, to what appears to be music heard on a radio station with an adult alternative format. This was expected when NBC Universal took over. It was limited to Al Roker's show initally, but I expected it to expand after the holidays.

Vocal local is still on, so the announcements are cutting into the music. I expect that feature to be discontinued shortly, and pop music will be heard 24/7.

Fans of Smooth Jazz might as well get over it, as I don't see them going back.
