The Weather Channel, or is it Comedy Central

> Apparently they are bringing in Comedians to liven things up...

I have stopped watching The Storm Stories Channel, as they seem not to care about weather any more. So hiring comedians is not a shock here.

I think that NBC will use their Weather Plus to bury TWC by actually showing weather 24/7.

I love Lewis Black, but still . . . This is the Weather Channel. They should show weather. If nobody cares when there's no hurricane/tornado/flood/etc., which is possibly the case, they should just close up shop because local news and CNN do the big events better anyway.

Agreed. I think the Weather Channel is going to bring themselves down. They are turning into the Discovery Channel with all these other programs they air. Whenever I want to check the weather it is never on, so I turn to other sources. I never watch those Storm Stories.

The only issue is... WX+ is mostly on the O&Os and in other larger markets. Everyone gets TWC. I know I've heard from our CM that the cost of it is prohibitive for smaller market affiliates to add WX+.

Also, Weather Plus is not available to satellite customers. DirecTV does have an interactive weather feature - it's ok.

No, no, no, no, no. Next they'll have Dennis Miller doing his Mr. Glib on the weather routine. Whose bright idea was it to put a yuk behind every cloud?

For what its worth I have seen a non localized Weather Plus feed which has national forecasts and is branded "NBC Weather Plus" so perhaps this may be something on offer.

You can see NBC Weather Plus on MSNBC when they have the weather segment. So MSNBC is getting NBC Weather Plus known.

It's also on Al Roker's maps on the Today show and whenever they do weather stuff on Nightly News.
