The Weather Channel using local TV stories?

Do TV stations enter into an agreement with The Weather Channel and have their stories fed nationwide during big weather events? Currently, sections of Connecticut are receiving heavy wet snow. TWC aired a report from WFSB-TV reporter Eric Parker in Torrington, CT (Litchfield County, in the NW corner of the state). A few minutes later, they showed a general street scene for the weather in Hartford. Naturally, I recognized the shot. It was Hartford's Central Row and the camera is on the roof of WFSB-TV (CBS) channel 3.

The other reason I ask about this is that they seem to use national reports from ABC News a bit and major ABC affiliates, when possible.<P ID="signature">______________

I think that they're using ABC for a newsfeed service.
