The Weather Channel, WTVF Nashville, KLAS Las Vegas for sale

"News reports have floated several potential suitors for the Weather Channel such as Time Warner, Comcast, News Corp. and General Electric, which owns NBC and several cable networks, including Weather Plus."

Wow, if The Weather Channel got in the hands of the big cable operators, they could make some serious changes.

I hope that Time Warner/Turner Broadcasting buys it.

They are both in ATL, so I don't see why not.

Then The Weather Channel would be like CNN Headline News. It doesn't say CBS Corp would be interested, could that change? This as I have seen on The Weather Channel they use CBS 2 from New York City a couple times. Also does CBS 2 show The Weather Channel logo during the weather on WCBS-TV. Wouldn't be a bad for CBS Corp.

TWC has a number of affiliation agreements in major markets, though they partner with both WCBS-New York and KTVT-Dallas...to what extent I'm not sure, since I don't live in either market.

They affiliate with a lot of ABC stations, notably ABC-owned KTRK-Houston. TWC receives video and breaking weather-news reports from ABC-13, but does not provide any forecasting products to the station (in fact, ABC-13 uses one of their competitors, WeatherCentral Corp's 3D:Live weather system, rather than a TWC-owned WSI Corp product).

Why, so they can put reruns of Law and Order and Sex in the City on the Weather Channel too? Be careful what you wish for here.....

I hope that whoever gets TWC will take all the shows that are not Weather news and information off the air entirely (storm stories, global warming crock).
