the weather

well, here we go again. our local weather people first said we were in for a big one again this week.. that was on monday and tuesday..a foot of snow.. now today they are saying it may miss us and we will get an inch or two. these guys are a joke. they cant even predict the next day, let alone the 5 day forcast..you have noreen stumbling over her forecast, her husband who now pauses between every sentence, and joe in the morning, drawing pictures and, heads on the set that is for pre-school children, and says hes 80% right with his forcast.. they should use what was used during the 2nd world war..they could predict the weather for bombing raids miles away, and were right on target.. these weather forecasters today get everyone worried about getting milk, bread and toilet paper before the big one hits. either get new weather data, or new people to forecast the weather...

Vince never said it would be like that! I miss the Atlantic weatherman in his nifty service station uniform! Now does that take you back a bit?

Real weather reports, however, rarely have a strange music agenda to them. Nothing magic about it, it's just a load of crap that occurs every couple of decades.

i thought i was old, but the atlantic weather guy..i remember joe scott on tv 28.. and franklin d. coslett doing news.. thanks for your input.. love this stuff..cowboy 72

your right dave, and how about ann wideman.....on 16..wasnt she the hostess with the mostest? i still think they were better on the air, then todays forcasters. we dont need temps from school locations, and the 16 crew playing with bags, and heads and yelling, and of course the wardrobe show with hubby and wife.. just give us the weather.. thats all we need..

I can't remember the names of the Atlantic weather guys, but I was thinking about two of the Triangle Broadcasting Stations WFBG 10 in Altoona, Pa and and WNBF 12 in Binghamton.

Speaking of the Atlantic weather guy on Triangle's WFBG channel 10 in Altoona, are any of you old enough to remember "Big John" Riley? Classy guy, classic broadcaster.
Don Fox

I was just going to mention him. It was a big deal to stay up late enough to watch him when I was in school. Later, I worked on a competing station while he was still on the air On WFBG Radio. Seems to me he owned Altoona during his time slot.
"Atlantic keeps your car on the go!"

"Seems to me he owned Altoona during his time slot."

WFBG-TV weather @ 11 pm, then on WFBG-am as "The Morning Mayor." Long days!

Big John Riley, I had forgotten about him...But now that the memory was jogged, I do remember him well. Ok, Binghamton, NY people, how about Ralph Carroll and Len Hathaway?
