The Weekend Blow Out on Kiss 108

I've heard this show for the past couple weeks on Kiss. The music is great and Jackson Blue seems to be putting a lot of effort into making the show stand out. Anyone hear it yet? It's on now - Saturday nights 7p-10p I think??? Sounds really solid.

heard a rumor they are trying to syndicate it

No more Open House Party, huh?

Was that show really any good, or was it there simply because John Garrebedian was friendly with Rivers, Cadillac Jack and Sunny...?

Thoughts...?

OHP hasn't been on Saturday nights for a while. The quality of the Saturday show had decreased rapidly over the years; my guess is that was the reason for pulling it.

Jackson's doing a new show? sheesh! with his regular shift, then this show, now Community Auditions...he's turning into Ryan Seacrest! LOL

Good luck to him seriously tho, he seems like a nice fun guy.

OHP Sucks !

In all fairness, it serves a purpose. It's hardly appropriate for Kiss 108 at this point, but a lot of cheap small-market stations rely on it to fill 5-10 hours of their programming schedule. Even at his advancing age, John Garabedian is still more relevant that whomever would be doing a Saturday night airshift in Biloxi or Fort Wayne.

How has the "quality" of the show decreased over the years?

The jokes are stale, the mixing is uninspired, and John badly overdoes it with the dance records, not realizing that the audience for that music is in a dance club, not listening to the radio.

In all fairness, he's still an insightful interviewer. OHP would be most successful if Kannon hosted both nights, but still had John do the interview segment.
