The Wolf is being put to sleep

They seem to be stunting with an assortment of children's music and party tunes.

Word around the campfire is they'll be flipping to Waitt's Bob-FM format (adult hits).

I guess we'll all find out December 6 at noon.

By the way, is 1410 stunting as well?

Wouldnt surprise me, BOB would fit the market much much better than what its sitting at right now.

Waitt does a really swell job with their BOB format as well. It sure will be exciting to see.

Merry Christmas, Mark! The ENTIRE country audience, and thus the market, is now yours! It goes to prove if you stay the course, you will reach your destination. The Wolf was always meant to keep K105 at bay, even with just a couple of ratings points, so the others (AMP stations) would have a chance. Yeah, I know full-well ::) that K105 has always been a market leader, but now, as long as there is no country competition, K105 is untouchable, the country sector being as big as it is.

Can't say how long it will last... ;)
...but enjoy the view!

One question, though: 'Tis the season...why wouldn't a station that's going to flip stunt wall-to-wall Christmas?

R.I.P. Wolf. We had some good times together.

Still alive and kickin', and BTW, still have a voice and know how to use it in my modest home studio ;).

I usually refrain from responding to posts about my direct competitor but since they're no longer my competitor I will say this. Thank you Michael. In my 4 years competing against the Wolf you were the one bright spot they had.

And I agree with you. If I'm flippin' formats, I'm goin all Christmas beginning in November until I make that change.

Call me sometime. We'll have lunch.

I'm not familiar with this market all that well.
Are there already too many Christmas music stations in the market?

A very valid point indeed. The ratings for Christmas music would have been better than children's and party music...one would think...?

I don't believe there is any Christmas format in Lafayette, unless people are listening to 93.1.

We only have 3 companies and 10 radio stations in the market. Nobody does ALL christmas music.

I listened to it this morning driving in...found it very relaxing.

Maybe that's what Arthur was referring to when he said the new format would be an 'easier listening' format. You can't get much easier than dead air with an ID firing at the top of every hour.

Soon you guys accross town will feel the BITE right out of your ratings. Laugh all you want!

I would rather listen to my personal IPOD than the IPOD you have on shuffle on your side of town. Hope Bob, Chuck and Jack do well for you!

Are they actually planning something for the AM?

How do I get in touch with Art? I have an idea for the station.

LA CALLE 1410 - Ive said this time and time over again, get Bustos Sat and run it from there with local liners.

The only question here is - why the heck did it take Autistic this long to make the switch to a different format? ???

You would think that after all this time they would have learned that a jukebox can't win against decently programmed heritage station with a staff able to promote themselves. But then again, all of AMP's stations are realistically jukebox's.

K105 has HAD no competition in years, so this is really not a major change. The only thing JACK will really compete against is WAZY's upper end #'s. Shoulda taken the station ESPN Sports (when they had the chance) or Spanish...

Dumb move.

It wont hurt WAZY as much as wedge itself between WASK and WKHY. The station might actually do well in Lafayette, the feel for the format is coming back in small town america
