Wolf wasn't as high as 165k. His base was alot lower at CC, but he could certainly hit 150k with a full boat of live endorsements every day.
Dawes was in the 45-50k range. He made a little less there than he made when he was at CC, at least to start.
Not sure if anyone will take the chance on Wolf, but Townsquare would be the ones to do it if they did. I believe Q pays a cash fee for Free Beer and it's not a barter deal, but it's not a ton of money.
Yes, 105.7 was considering Talk when Glen Beck became available after the 590 format change. Since CC sydicates Beck's show, they locked him in and dumped Al Roney to derail 105.7's plans.
The Wolf show in itself is a big investment. You'd need to pay him at least 100k, plus one or two of his crew at 50-60k each, on top of a producer for 25-30k. That's easily a 200-230k morning show. Most stations in the area without a local morning show operate the entire station on significantly less money.
I can't see Wolf doing a show solo without at least a sidekick to bounce things off of. That may be his only option eventually.
The show wasn't exactly a cash cow at PYX. At one time it was, but in the past few years it went downhill.
