The Wolf, The Ticket, The Bone

CUME-LESS certaintly has made a splash in the DFW market heh? :D

Isn't the Ticket #1 men 25-54 in the latest ratings? Isn't The Wolf kicking KSCS's hiney?

Are you being sarcastic?

The Bone has to be one the most boring rock stations I've heard in years. I was recently in the SF Bay area and noticed that there is a "Bone" there as well. Maybe I'm slow on the uptake but I haven't been to SF in years. Further research revealed that its also a Cumulus station. The interesting thing is that, while its still boring, the SF Bone has much better programming, more interesting imaging and a much better website. The DFW Bone is like almost like a hopeless throwaway. ???

Although I haven't seen recent breakdowns, I would guess The Ticket is still doing very well in 25-54 men. Its 12+ numbers are still relatively flat. The Wolf really crashed 12+ in the latest book going down to the levels that frequency hasn't seen since, well, it was forced to become The Wolf. In fact, it crashed even worse than 107.5 did going from the Oasis to the Movin' trainwreck, which is proving to be a turkey pretty much everywhere but Seattle. However, The Wolf is still in a statistical dead heat with KSCS. The Bone is, well, The Bone. Even with KZPS continuing its steady overall decline, The Bone can't get any closer to catching it.

You may be right about the Ticket but nevertheless their still DOWN in other demos. The Wolf was beat by a lame sounding KSCS. Except for morning drive where The Gang contiues it dominance over a boring CODY. When you blow out VETS what do you expect? Don't know why the midday girl was canned at KSCS. She was one of the better jocks.

KLUV looks good 12+ except 25-54. Bad showing (again) Seems to me the 25-54 numbers should have been there considering they gave a Car and 60K in Gas! I'm sure their TSL was up among non kluv listeners with the big giveaways.

I think Gene and Julie just bought themselves another one or two years with this increase. I mean after all, if Ron Chapman likes having lunch with you, you must be doing something right :D

Great numbers for KISS. Good talent line-up and CONSISTANCY.

My buddy Russ at KLLI sucked ;D

The Mix it's usual showing.

KRLD dead with the twin talkers in Midday

To soon to tell about Movin'. I predict a peak of 2.2 WRONG music mix.

JACK. SOS.

KLTY Steady as she goes.

WBAP Still healthy, so far...

I've known peeps that sold for KTCK. Do you think they CARE if they're down in other demos? Their bread and butter is men 25-54. And they outbill stations way above them in the ratings with those 'men' numbers.

And if KLUV is looking good 12+, but is down 25-54, doesn't that mean that their audience is either 12-24 or 55+. DO you want to be which one it is? And if it's 55+, they're the new millenium version of the old 1310 era KAAM. Still capable of decent ratings, utterly incapable of billing enough to make them viable.

I haven't seen the demo break-outs for The Ticket but KSCS beat The Wolf 3.0 to 2.9.

I am consistently amazed with the "white trash" programming on The Bone.....
This is NOT the programming that DFW needs or wants.
I have -0- respect for those delivering The Bone's product to market.
Some look ONLY at Numbers.... Others look at the soul.... or the lack of a soul, of a Radio Station. A total waste of the Public Airwaves -- The Bone.....

Wouldn't it be great if an area could get the music that they want....
What an addition to the Quality of Living that that would be !

Music is no longer considered part of the quality of living.....
Making Money, and having beer readily available, is Corporate America's standard of quality.

Soul-less... that's right.... .....

AMEN to that bro!!!

the ticket couldn't care less about 12 plus. never ever sold it.
its about moving products..(they do) and 25-54 guys (great)
12 + is an absolutly irrelevent number for sports radio.

The Bone shuld just thrown in the towel, the board, etc and get rid of Walton and Johnson who are threatening the Nytol market.

I particularly do not care for the BONE. It adds nothing to the DFW radio airwaves. I do enjoy the TICKET, however. I think Cumulus does an average job with their stations. I also enjoy WOLF somewhat. I think there are better country stations here, not mentioning any names. And being a Talk radio fan, I enjoy KLIF very much. Every station can't please everyone, but over all....they are doing ok. :D

MEMO TO THE BONE PD/MD; The Group CREAM had more than one hit,not just "Whiteroom". We'll check back with you in a couple of months. BTW Hendrix also had other hits besides"All along the watchtower".

You guys are right, The Bone sucks, they don't play "Strange Brew" either. They do need to throw in the towel.

Indeed!

When I think of the Bone,I think of all the Gentlemen's clubs spots they run and a few biker bars, because they are having a hard time selling it.
