I really thought the Wolf sign on was great but i ask you.... do you think the more time goes by that there are no jocks on air what momentum The Wolf recieved with it's sign on will be gone if they go too long without live jocks?

Let's do the math. There are 168 hours in a week, times 60 minutes equals 10,080 minutes divided by 4 minutes for each song which is 2,520 songs per week, times four weeks and we are over the 10,0000 songs.

Based upon that April 1 is the time for personalities, except that I do not beleive that the air staff is fully decided upon. They could start out with just a morning show and add pepole as they arrive.

I do agree that you do loose momentum if you continue to play just songs, after all we have CD players at our fingertips.

Somehow I do get the feeling that they will not wait very long and certainly not the months that KFRC took when they changed to Movin 99.7

What is your gut feeling for the of the real launch of 95.7 the Wolf?

Newsperson

When 95.7 was the Bear, I LOVED it!- I listened to it from the very beginning, before it had any personalities or commercials. I continued to listen to it faithfully until the day it was yanked out from underneath us. I was crushed! So once again, I am listening to 95.7, now as the Wolf, faithfully. I will continue to listen to this station when it has personalities, and commercials. I really hope they bring back JD and some of the others from the Bear. They really had a good thing going... I've been telling everyone I know about this station, I am thrilled to have country music back in Napa!!! HHHOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWLLLLLLLLLLLL

Thanks for checking in JD :D

"Thanks for checking in JD"

They could do worse. He's a clever guy who always entertained, and would give the Wolf a recognizable personality for people to latch onto. Entercom won't get that by just bringing in a bunch of unfamiliar out of town DJs. His presence on the KFRC Morning Show made Cammy Blackstone almost tolerable. Notice I say "almost."

And no, I'm not JD, either.

Cammy was never tolerable! Her voice and her attitude was not that of a radio personality i would care to listen to! With her on it was dreadful, pethetic, annoying, boring, agitating, a nuisance, a payroll leak for CBS! Then add Ron Parker, and Its time to change the station, Im glad those two are no longer on!! Morning radio was much better with Bwana Johnny, Roger W. Morgan, Dr. Don Rose, Chris Edwards (the one who was at KYA in 1968) not to be confused with the other one, Gene Nelson, Russ the Moose, Johnny Holliday, Gary Bryan, "Big" Tom Parker These guys did radio, Cammy pretended! Kenny in Concord

Geez, get off Cammy's back already! The woman just lost a job after all. She must've done something right to stay employed in SF radio on morning drive no less for nearly 20 years when you figure in KNBR and KFRC. Okay, she's not everyone's cuppa tea but how many times must you rake someone over the coals? XM, apparently you never tire much of typing the exact same comments. Let me tell you, some of us are tired of reading your posts. Cammy sucked, John Mack is a God, XM is the greatest, bring back this one, that one and the other. Ho hum. Please think of something, anything, new to say. Trash ME if you like...at least it will be a refreshing change.

Ampmod, Take it easy, Ive never seen your comments here, however perhaps my posts arent your cup of tea, Yes I think Ive made my point! Thanks for making me aware of this, Im going to prepare non repetitive posts for the future! Go to bed tommorows a new day. Theres alot more important things to concern yourself about! Dont concern yourself about Cammy Im sure shes doing fine! Perhaps you can enlighten me and the others on Bay Area Radio! Thanks Kenny in Concord

Re: The Wolf (JD SUCKS!!!)

Jeff Dean or "JD" as he is lamely refered to is sooooooooo tired. I hear he's sending the PD cowboy boots trying to get in the door. It's over old man. Young Country sucked because of you. No one wants to hear your stupid Robin Williams "Hello" anymore. JD SUCKS! Dirty stinky grey haired old washedup lush.

And while I'm on a roll...no Jeff Perry, Beth Becall or Celeste Perry.

I would love to hear T.A. who is currently at KRTY. T.A. is what I'm talkin' 'bout!!! Bring on Tim Anthony!!!

And maybe a jock or 2 from KAT Country in Modesto.

No way Ill buy that one Cheese, JD was great on KFRC before Bobby Ocean replaced him in 01! Overlooked big time! Knows oldies, and hes a bay Area native with a voice for radio! As for Celeste Perry, shes one of my faves, aside from Candi Chamberlin these 2 ladies have a voice for radio! Celeste Perry was on KYA right after Gene Nelson, The Middays were great then, look at it now The only KYA lady left on the air is Sylvia Chacon, I remember her first show in 1986 on KYA fm look at her now ,Shes doing commercials on TV, and middays on Star 101.3 !! As for JD I could have sworn i heard him doing a spot on XMs 60s channel with Pat Clarke! Kenny in Concord

XM, well I finally agree with you about something! I think Celeste Perry had the best pipes along with a great wit and flawless delivery to boot back when she was holding down mid-days at KYA. Total pro and a great gal to top it off. I'm sure Sylvia's a great gal and has good energy on the air but I was never a fan. Too over the top bubbly/happy for my taste and not blessed with a great radio voice, but she hangs in there and good for her.

I am just wondering.....

That 10000 Songs In A Row thing,... how many hours is that?

I personally don't listen to The Wolf, but I am just wondering is the station actually starting to make money now? How long do you guys think it will last?

Figuring each song average length is 3:30. 17 an hour. 408 a day. 24 + days.

I know I Know! You've told us over and over ::)

WOLF jocks

Nikki Landry from "The Wolf" in Sacramento has told friends she's the new midday jock at the WOLF. Several CHR morning shows in other markets have been approached for mornings, so it's unlikely an market veterans will end up on AM drive. Jojo Kincaid, maybe for afternoons?
