The Wolf

You wanna hear a great Wolf station, check out the stream at www.931wolfcountry.com. New music, the best female voice I've ever heard in Mid days, cool contesting. This Wolf took a BIG bite out of the heritage country station (WTQR) in the Greensboro market in their 1st book. With an ever present TV marketing campaign there should be even more growth when the winter book hits.

Well the personality the Wolf was known for is all but gone. Will Sebastian kill the Wolf, probably not, at least for a while. In my opinion this is what will happen. It will go up for a few books, and everyone will once again call him the "turn-around king" for breathing life back into the Wolf. It will NEVER have the personality it once had, J.S. will make sure the music is front and center. More than likely, in addition to all the other cross-over songs, we will hear the Eagles EVERY hour(at around 55 past), at least that's how it was back at WSM-FM. After about a year the "new" will start to wear and it will settle in somewhere in the middle of the pack in ratings. Sebastian will move on to his next "turn-around" station before the Wolf stagnates, so he will keep his track record, but for the next P.D. all eyes will be on him/her to keep the momentum going but that will not happen. So management will see Sebastian as a great maracle worker and the next P.D...well as far as managment goes, he will never be the number generator that J.S. was. It's sad really because the next P.D. is just inheirating the predictable product left by Sebastian.

Just my thoughts...we'll see I guess.
