THE WOLF

I don't listen to the Wolf as much as I used to (more about that in the next paragraph), but it seems that whenever I tune them in, they are not playing the crossover-type tunes as much as they were before. Anyone have any insight into this?

Back last Christmas, when Mix 92.9 went all-Christmas, all the time, I took them OUT of my primary (FM1) presets in my car radio, and moved V-102.5 in its place. (I still had V-102.5 in the secondary (FM2) presets.) After Christmas, I moved 92.9 back into the primary presets, but I was liking what I heard over V-102.5 enough that I wanted to keep them in the FM1 presets as well. So I moved the Wolf to my FM2 presets where I used to have V-102.5.

Let this be a lesson to broadcasters. Change your programming, even if it is just over Christmas, and we may, or may not be back! We may change our listening habits, and decide that we like what we are hearing now, over what we were hearing over your station! You might change your programming temporarily, but we might change our listening habits permanently!

Hey Firepoint,

I was thinking, if we can ever get IBOC on the FM band straight, there will be some format out there for everone, every demo in each market. I may be wrong, but this would solve some of the upset demos that feel that they are not served. One FM with up to 3 formats, that's a cool thing.
Example: 95.5 could have Hot County, Classic Country and some sort of Rock Format.

It may not be too late for FM IBOC, and if the FCC doesn't try to charge the consumer and bradcasters money for this digital stuff, it could put a dent into XM's business. The FCC should allow us small AM broadcasters (like me; WMRO, WHIN, WQKR, WCOR, etc.) to migrate to the FM band with what ever power we can get and close the AM band all together. IBOC is not going to work on AM. The commerical AM band we know of know could be converted used for ham use after the commerical stations are migrated to the FM band. It's going to take Congress to move on this.

The NAB's idea of AM's using FM translators is the first step towards this, at least I think.

It's called Jan Jeffries. Consultant 'genius'. Otherwise known as 'it's unbreakable? Call Jan, he'll find a way'.
Mastermind of the last, oh I don't know..4 format changes for 97.1?
He's a genius. Seriously. I say this because he is still being paid for his advice.

Hi Jan! Wipe your nose.
