The Wolfs Fitz filling in for Regis Philbin

Regis and Kelly did this last summer with radio women filling in for Kelly. A regular thing for the TV. Free fillin talent in a non important TV rating period. Maybe get a little free talk among DJ's competing. Most major air-talent ignore these things. Fitz talked about it non-stop on his show, which made my wife tuneout. Is Fitz show going into more markets or just SF. SF ratings are not good, but SF is not a country town so that is a bit unfair.

This tryout could in theory be more important in that Regis has announced his retirement.

Uh, no. It's a week of fillins. None of the 5 DJs have a snowball's chance in h-e-double-hockey sticks of succeeding Reeg.

Sheer coincidence in timing. The only purpose of this was to get hundreds of radio stations to promote the show, with the only cost to the show is to use some airline and hotel trade. Shrewd move by the show.

Yea for sure it is a win win for both parties as the show gets exposed to a huge number of new people and of course the Radio Stations play it up and get a ton of promotion and coverage they might not have gotten otherwise...

But there is no chance a DJ from any radio station is going to takeover for Regis...

A win for both parties? Not sure about that. I don't know how much time The Wolf's morning show spent trying to get its morning guy on the show. But if it was a substantial amount of time, my feeling is that The Wolf loses in the long run. If it was simply mentioned here and there, then it was a big win.

It's a big win for Regis & Kelly, not much of a win for the radio stations giving away tons of free promotion for the TV show.

The sad thing is some of the radio talent co-hosting the show this week are, well not very talented. In fact, that guy yesterday..Doctor-something, was an embarrassment to the industry.

Having a bunch of misogynistic morning show radio "talent" on national TV is a train wreck, (yet I can't look away).

Misogynistic? Fitz...misogynistic? He's got more estrogen than Mary.

No kidding. And calling WTMX's Eric Ferguson (yesterday's guest host) "misogynistic" is just plain absurd.
