The Wolf's Prediction didn't come true

What happened to The Wolf? Thought they were supposed to be #1 this trend. ::)

Never fails. Some hotshot nationally syndicated "brand" station moves in and suddenly our time tested and listener proven heritage stations are supposed to just keel over and die like they do in Dallas or Peoria.

Seattle is a MUCH different market. KMPS still OWNS country here. Live with it......

I'm guessing the only reason for the PD shuffle is money-you gotta figure PD's need to prepare to program several stations now at the same time for the same wage. They probably made it seem like someone's fault but in reality it was money.

Dude did ya see the monthly extrap ??? DA WOLF and KMPS were both tied cowboy. The only thing that happenned is stations like KIRO FM, KTTH and KIRO AM had whoppin adult numbers from the election and will next time as well dude :-[ WOLF still was way up and in da hunt with compass ;D Do ya really believe that KIRO-AM is number one 12+ or that KIRO-FM is number one mid-days or that KTTH is a top five station. PLULEEEZE ;) When the PPM arrives and the elction is over we will see which country station is really number one ;D

Are you willing to go on the record about, without any hint of ambiguity, where The Wolf will beat KMPS, by how much, which book, which daypart and which demo? Be specific.

My guess is lot's of self-promotion, but the only data to back up the claims come as the sound of crickets.

Well let's see here cowboy. There has only been one PPM market with a WOLF format and that would be aaaaaa Dallas. Oh Yeah.
Let me lookee here. There are two country stations and one is the hotter WOLF type station ::) Oh wait there are a couple of rimshot country stations like here in ole Seattle. So in the first PPM market with a WOLF station what happens ??? Boy howdy, WOLF jumps to top three in just about every demo even 6+ and is number two 25-54. Anybody else got any data on WOLF stations in PPM markets. Guess not: CAUSE THERE AIN'T ANY YET. So based on what we know right now it makes sense to suggest that WOLF formats doin just fine :-X This ain't rocket science.

Seattle isn't Dallas. Just because the count of country stations is similar, doesn't mean the listening habits or listener distribution is either. For obvious reasons, there are many more country listeners in Texas.

Many air talent and consultants have made the mistake of comparing format success or failure based on disparate markets like NYC, LA, DFW, Miami, with Seattle. The comparison just doesn't hold up, I argue PPM use or not.

As AQH inquired, I also gathered from your comment that according to whatever recent "monthly extraps" that the Seattle Wolf tied KMPS. Is that not the case after all?

Oh and just so you know... I am not a cowboy.

So, are you going to make the prediction?

Top three 25-54 and number one country station in Seattle

Just so we all understand, in which survey period, and do you mean all adults 25-54 and Monday through Sunday 6-Mid?
