the "WONECUE" ... any good?

I have been looking at the WONECUE, which according to the literature, is a DSP based cue tone decoder that decodes a bunch of different signals (including Westwood one - thus the name).

Is this thing any good? In particular, how does work with regards to false trips on 25/35 Hz cue tones? Some decoders are much better than others.

Sure, I wish everyone supported relays out of the starguide receivers, but many network feeds (regional sports) don't use them.

Regards,
Joe

This?

I don't think ours is doing anything. I'd rather sit here and read radio info than trace the wires to see if it's doing anything.
______________

I tried one a few years back...POS in my opinion....missed a number of cues on Lovelines interfaced to Prophet; I got an old style decoder and it never failed.

I later tested the WONECUE using a HP TIMS...it was not within specs and decoded the right tone/level MAYBE 75% of the time...When I called and complained, they said there were no adjustments and didnt offer me a replacement (well I COULD buy another one)...forget that!

never mind (was the "WONECUE")

According to Westwood One the WONECUE is not available anymore...

Oh well...

Have you considered the Broadcast Tools decoder? It works well for me.
______________

For 25/35hz The Muellers work best for me. I also have a zepherous at a station and it works fine as long as it's got a good level going into it. Levels are less critical to the Muellers. http://www.muellerbroadcastdesign.com/products.html

Re: never mind (was the "WONECUE")

I am using the sub-3 from Circuitwerkes - works pretty well, actually.

Was just looking to try and straighten up & perhaps combine the various decoders we have. Guess I have to fix up my old TDO-1 card from Wwood one.

Here's another question...what is there around these days to decode the old CBS chirp (still in use today on The Radio Factor, for example).
