I remember the time you had an apartment at Woody's and he and Rene left for dinner and hadn't ask you to go. They werer laughing sayiong that you looked like you were going to cry. A lovely couple for sure.

All I can say is OH WOW! Thanks so much for this thread. Hours of reading pleasure. I only worked for The Woody Guy for nine months, but I could fill a book. For those of us who heard his dulcet tones everyday while he yelled at us, all one of us has to do is start a Woody Guy impression ("Donnnn, you're irresponsible") and we all break up in hysterical laughter!

Holy cow!!!! $210 a week in Scranton. THAT'S big money for that station and market. Can you imagine if you were not a freind of Woody's what you woudl have made?

The interesting thing was I left to go back to school to get my MBA, since on-air wasn't cutting it. I recall not being able to pay my insurance for my car that fall since I was broke!

Bob, I'm still in radio. I work at Monmouth-Ocean's "The Breeze", and I've been at Sirius ("Sirius Gold" right now) since the beginning, in 2001.

I think Woody paid me around 140 or 150 a week to do nights when I was there in 1981. It was enough to afford a crappy top-floor apartment in a hundred year old house in the Hill Section that got broken into a week after a got there. I then moved to a converted garage on the grounds of a house not far from the Dunmore border. That place had a few problems, too: the pipes frequently froze in winter, and it had a bee infestation (they were attracted to the fluorescent lighting)! The good old days......

That If I Had More Guts I Would Have Kicked His Teeth In.

I Think That These Posts Show What What Kind Of A Person Bob Woody Is...
