The word you can't say on "i" is "God"...

If you're talking about the televangelists who actually preach the Word of God, you have to go to TBN and Daystar for those.

Spoken exactly like someone who actually paid $500 for Juanita Bynum's "Emergency Prayer Kit". :D

Just remember this one very important fact!

i is owned by not just Paxson Communications; but, now 100% by NBC Universal, pending FCC approval of the sale.

They have vowed to make i a full-fledged network once again. That's as soon as all of the religious and informercial contracts have ended.

Televangelists who actually preach the Word of God? That is an oxymoron!

Pay for pray? I don\'t sign off 100% on what they\'re doing, but if you know any that would refuse to pray for someone who didn\'t make a donation, I recommend that you gather up the evidence and out them at once. I\'ll be right by you demanding their head.

By pay for pray, I mean the concept of spending contribution money, which could be going for say for something truly Christian like helping the poor or feeding the hungry, on television time.

OTOH, I was in Wilkes-Barre PA over the weekend and passed by plenty of Catholic churches advertising the hundreds of thousands of dollars they\'ve raised in their \"appeals\". This in an area of mostly poor and elderly. I guess different groups have their own ways of raising money. Both should read the Bible sometime and find out how they\'re supposed to take care of church business.

But back to the original topic, there\'s nothing wrong with \"i\" removing offensive references to God.

What \"i\" finds as \"offensive references to God\" are things that I do not find offensive. Censorship such as this, on the other hand, is something I find really offensive. In more civlilzed countries (ie. ones that don\'t have a Bible shoved up their arse), swearing and nudity are found on normal broadcast televison.

So everybody has to follow your standards and forget about their own? Riiiiight. Buy your own television network, then you're free to air whatever you want within the law. If you don't like what "i" chooses to do with their own network, write them a complaint letter. And good luck getting a response.

As to the censorship issue, this isn't censorship, as the government isn't involved. If you find self-restraint offensive, then be offended.

And if you feel other countries are more civilized, you're free to move there. Then you can have all the nudity and swearing you want. Or better yet, get cable or satellite TV. I hear they even have girlie channels and you can have all the fun you want.

But no, you'd rather try to shove your standards up everyone else's rears. How tolerant of you.

Kind of like the Christians do...you might have a good point if there weren't Christian & so called family (AKA the parents tv council) websites devoted to writing letters to politicians, the fcc & advertisers...you know shoving their standards in my ears.

So everybody is trying to get their own standards enacted. Sounds like normal human behavior to me. So let's cut out this cr@p about "so-and-so is trying to shove their standards down everyone's throat" as if they're the only side doing it.

Again, back to the original issue - if "i" wants to cut out certain words, where's the problem? It's their network, their choice. If the movie producers and distributors have a problem with it, I believe they have legal remedies. I have never written a complaint to them, or anyone else, so if they choose to respect my values, then I find that commendable.

I actually agree with you 100% on THE issue (it's their channel they can do what they like), I for one won't watch movies on commercial tv becouse they cut them up too much (any channel not just i), I don't understand why they would run Cadyshack in the first place (great movie, not family friendly). I myself would rather see i run more classic tv shows, there are alot of older family friendly shows that no one shows (other than RTN on satellite).
