The world is ending

A letter to the editor in what I believe is Time Warner territory said the person went to Charleston, SC (apparenty on vacation) and said cable service there was what cable service should be. The provider? Comcast.

OOWEEEEEOOO ...

Doesn't the person mean Xfinity? ::)

At this point, the proper name is "Xfinity by Comcast." For some reason, their business services (phone and internet) are not part of the Xfinity rebranding.

I have Comcast (er...Xfinity) digital cable service, and I have to admit...other than the price, which I'm not pleased with - the service is just fine. Good reception, hundreds of choices, On Demand, etc.

After about 4 years, my cable box was dying - the remote wouldn't respond to commands. So I took it in to the Comcast office to be replaced. I had to wait in line for about 10 minutes, but the clerk was helpful, and courteous - she replaced my box and remote with no questions asked. No complaints from me.

So, yes - your world has officially ended.

Even when I had business in Plainville and New Britain I was too lazy to stop at The Comcast office in Plainville to get my box replaced. My complaint since the day I became a Comcast customer in April 2009 is the program guide. I can't get listings more than a few hours in advance and if they are listed no program description is listed. It's a box problem. That's a given.

My parents have COX no problem with the listings. They have program listings for several days. They used to have Directv - same thing. Program Listings for close to a week.

I used to have DISH Network where I used to live. Listings for around 10 days.

So it's "a box problem" and it's easily solved, but hasn't been?
Is it really "a box problem" still? ???

Where I live, there are Comcast program listings at least a week in advance - 10 days is probably right. Previous to my first DVR box (maybe 3 to 4 years ago), my old non-DVR non-HD box only gave me about 3 days worth of listings. I'm not sure if that was a function of the box itself, or Comcast improved their listings. Obviously, you want at least a week for DVR planning.

yea i think its only the dvr boxes that can do that, when i had a non hd tv a few years ago i could only get a few hours maybe then it would say to be announced!!

If someone does not want to take in their box, just simply subscribe to TV Guide, I'm sure they could use the business and it is a fine publication ::)
