The worst commercials in TV history..

Can someone tell Microsoft there are better ways to spend their advertising budget than this whole "Bing it On" thing, when no one's buying it (and when there are better Google alternatives than Bing out there)?

We find GOOGLE is far superior to BING, and yes, Bing it on is a terribly simple-minded slogan.

I find GOOGLE better than Bing of course.

Bing is trying to tell everyone that Google uses paid ads. But it's another annoying commercial.

And when will State Farm retire "Insurance find me money?" Still airing...

Progressive continues it's "commercials of shame", just saw one where a guy is singing karaoke to "I'll Stand By You" by the Pretenders. It's BRAND SPANKING NEW so it's not listed online. But I think it's a tiny bit better than "LET'S GET READY TO BUNDLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE..."

I have blah blah insurance so person find me money
I found you a dollar, ha oh too quick. ;D

The music and narration in this 1982 Coast soap commercial (featuring women's tennis players) sounds ATROCIOUS--but the rest of the commercial is FANTASTIC if the sound was muted (from a guy's standpoint--I'll just leave it at that). I recall a similar Coast ad around that time for NFL players (ironically around the '82 players' strike), but that isn't on YouTube at this time.

David Hasselhoff + COFFEE = Give me a break!

It's even gone viral and the morning news covered it Friday during their stupid "Trending Topics" segment. Which means it's news about Kardashians, musicians getting in trouble and viral videos.

I wish I had taped it.

About 15 years ago, Detroit TV stations were running a commercial for the Chevrolet Caprice Classic sedan. I believe the ad was made just for the Chevy dealers in the Detroit area, as it looked low-budget, buy it may have been statewide or even nationwide.

It appealed to the insecurities of aging men.

The scene - two men, about 60 years old, wearing suits, are leaving an upscale restaurant. The valet approaches them, and asks both of them which car is theirs.

Men unconvincingly speaking from a script:

Old man 1: "Lincoln Town Car"
Old man 2: "Chevy Caprice Classic"
Old Man 1: "You drive a Chevy?"
Old Man 2: "It's the best" (I may be misquoting this line)
Old Man 1: "My Lincoln is everything a luxury car should be, it's LONG!" (note usage of what was then Lincoln's slogan).
Old man 2: "Mine's longer - nine inches, in fact!"

Everyone I know who paid attention to the ad would only break into laughter at that line. I don't known anyone who bought a Caprice.

I don't like, and I also don't "get" the current M&Ms commercial in which one of the Ms sings "I Would do Anything for Love, but I Won't do That."

"That" appears to mean drawing the line against the obvious intentions of those mischievious looking, wild-eyed, sex-charged women nibbling on the "M". At least that's how I see it. Horrible!

Schlitz Beer caught some viewer pushback for a somewhat similar commercial airing in the '80s. An arms bearing, beer-totin' hunter returns to camp to find that his menacing pet mountain lion has cornered an intruder. The sneering hunter then glares toward the feline predator, saying "Meet your lunch!"

Commercial writers have a propensity for crossing boundaries. Witness Progressive's ill-advised "...BUNDLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLE" spots.

Any of the Dish Network "Hopper" er..sorry "HOPpah" commercials with the three chubby old men from Boston make me cringe everytime they air. And they one-up themselves on the level of ridiculousness and stupidity with every spot that airs.

Why Dish Network thought this was good campaign to begin with is beyond me.

Maybe because nothing else is working for Dish. Direct TV is eating their lunch in some parts.

Those were known in the ad business as the "Drink Schlitz Or I'll Kill You" commercials.

That may be true about DirectTV, but with Dish I get five of our local stations. Can DirectV do that? I've had that pleasure for years. I have ABSOLUTELY NO complaints about Dish.

Those commercials, along with the brewery cheapening its beer in the mid '70s and a production-workers strike in 1981, led to Schlitz's downfall. It was bought by Stroh's in 1982 (it's now owned by Pabst).

I nominate the GEICO "hump day" camel ad for the Worst Commercial List. Bombastically loud camel voice, absolutely annoying and stupid. Just as bad as Progressive's "READY TO BUNDDDDLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEE" Michael Buffer mess...
