and I'm really not liking that one where the Clay Matthews Fathead comes to life
and chases some slacker in a Bears jersey around the apartment.

Now THAT is offensive! ;)

I'm sure if there was a "Best Commercials in Wisconsin TV History" thread, the Clay Matthews ad would be probably #1 on the list. Just a thought. ;D

Eight words: "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU GOT ME THIS CAR!" The latest Chevy ad which just aired a few minutes ago during the Super Bowl and all the screaming that ensued. Stupid, stupid.

The unfortunate thing is many teenagers don't know how to say thank you about a big gift. It's all about "OMG!!!! OMG!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"

I agree--and I can only imagine if there was ever a "Teen Week" on "The Price Is Right" what that would be like. Especially when they see the new cars for the first time or get the opportunity to play Plinko. I don't think it would be like those teen editions of "Wheel of Fortune" or "Jeopardy."

Then again, I'm surprised there has never been a special Teen edition of TPIR in all its history. But if there ever was, do you think CBS will give the Scooter Store, Medicare, Hoveround people the day off for that special program? I doubt it--but I can't help but wonder.

Apologies for the veer. And it's not that I'm down on or have anything against teenagers, but....

My oldest son is allergic to dairy. It's flat-out astonishing to me how many times in fast food places, the kid at the counter/drive through doesn't know what you're talking about when you order a "hamburger". Either that...or the burger comes with cheese anyway. One or the other happens about 40% of the time.

During lunch hour rush a few years back at a Mickey D's in London....ordering a Big Mac without cheese (which is actually also they way I like 'em) took about ten minutes. Really! Apparently leaving a slice of cheese off a burger is something akin to rocket science!

They'll never have a teen work, they'll all in school. College students regularly skip class to watch TPIR if they're even up before noon

--Super Bowl ads are not immune from my "worst commercial" list. Along the lines of fast food, Burger King's Super Bowl XXXIX commercial from 2006 with the Whopperettes almost made a vegetarian out of me. LOL. Here's a blog entry (with video of the Whopperette ad) regarding a blogger's review of the infamous BK Super Bowl ad from nearly 4 years ago:

http://www.randomculture.com/random_culture/2006/02/super_bowl_comm_2.html

Apparently, the horrible 2006 Super Bowl BK Whopperettes commercial (which also featured the sinister King) has been on YouTube since the night of the game:

Yea, kinda like what you see every evening on Wheel Of Fortune.

Just saw another "work of art" from Buffalo Wild Wings a moment ago on CBS during the LSU-Auburn men's basketball broadcast. Their latest "You Can Never Have Too Much March" campaign with the ugly bearded guy in the bathtub whose girlfriend walks in on him as he's stepping into the tub (with a rose between his teeth). Then the scene goes to him holding a beer at Buffalo Wild Wings as the ad closes. Stupid, stupid--makes their previous ads look intelligent than that garbage. And I'm sure it will be all over CBS and the Turner networks during tourney coverage in a few weeks.

And this ad was posted on YouTube last Monday:

I remember a commercial fom way back when, from app. 1998, a Nintendo 64 commercial, that took place in a fast food joint. there was a kid and the Kid's boss gives him a paycheck and praises him for his hard work and when the kid realizes that the check costs exactly as much as the Nintendo 64 he says "I quit" and leaves.

I found that awfully amusing at the age of 12. But now, I find myself disgusted by the commercial. It is a shame how lazy teenagers are these days and the lack of work ethic teenagers have.

Saw an ad for the Nintendo 3DS, where some Chinese girls are talking about girls (with subtitles), then both laugh hysterically. Absolutely TERRIBLE and STUPID! Makes me want to watch some 80s commercials...

I concur, and would add that this commercial sent a terribly skewed message to America's youth about personal responsiblity and the value of hard work.

Geico as usual has provided us with more commercial misery--as I am so sick of the ad with the guy attempting to karaoke Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart" in hopes of getting a date. And it FAILED miserably.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQNE0QTIItE

You can usually find one huge plot hole in every Geico ad.

The one with the Karaoke singer is he's such a ******bag no one would date him.

The one with the panther (saving money on home security) is "Why isn't the huge kitty on patrol outside rather than being in the bedroom?"

There are others but I'm too lazy to fire up my iPhone to find them. :p :D ;)

Allow me to nominate that very weird new one from Cars.com where the guy is in the
dealership and he grows this second head which keeps bobbing up and down on a
second neck and singing. It's his "confidence".

Some ad exec actually cashed a paycheck for coming up with this one?
It's a crime!

There is this KFC commercial out now where a kid and his grandfather argue about what side to get with the chicken. the kid wants Mac n' Cheese and the grandfather wants Mashed Potatoes and Gravy. they get into a slugfest and the kid puts his grandfather in a headlock and the two older Peope decide to watch the fight. Another prime example of commercials telling kids it's ok to mess with an elder.

Head On, Capital Kia, any Kia commercial those prescription drug advertising, My Buddy, Shamwow, Snoogie (whatever you call those pajamas) Specs, Barney and Friends commercial, that commercial with Baby burp a lot (hated that one on my morning cartoon shows growing up)

I find that Tom Park guy annoying, and the funny thing is that dude followed me from San Antonio to Houston to Austin!

Tom Park North Star Dodge aired back in 1989 on KABB TV 29 a lot. I moved to Houston in 2000 he was back on the airwaves with Ron Carter out in Alvin, and moved to Austin in 2005, and he was with a dealership in San Marcos, and recently teamed up with Capital Kia (/sassing 183 and Anderson mill just right in front of the water tower) uuugggh.

Then there is the Jewelry Exchange aired all over the Houston commercial landscape, followed me in Austin the Jewelry Exchange now worldwide, I almost smashed my TV set!

I don't remember that I Get Around Hoveround commercial. I have seen that ad for the Scooter Store (Your powerchair will be paid in FULL!) for probably a decade, maybe more now. I don't see a lot of Scooter Store ads on The View, nor on Let's Make a Deal either. It seems to only be centered on TPiR (probably because when Bob Barker left he was about 83 or 84, and before the 90s powerchair ads were extremely rare during that hour). I sometimes see powerchair ads on shows like Maury, for crying out loud, along with the usual law office/CarHop/JG Wentworth/research study ads.

I think I have those adverts somewhere (scooter store, I get around) Those LiveTobaccoFree Austin ads are pretty annoying, since they cost the taxpayer around $8 each to make. The same with the NWO-CDC Vaccines, Smoking.

The all-time worst is the one for AT&T in which the family members aim remotes at each other as if they're loaded weapons.
Considering the upsurge in domestic violence, this commercial is about as funny as a hole in a parachute.

"Up oh like a beachside" ::) j/k that was a good at&t commercial done back in 1991, or so. Yeah I hate the remote fight commercial for their U-Verse, but what about the one where the guy has a TV in the Bathroom and eats in the tub? The Asian guy goes "I am not eating in here, think again."
