The worst commercials in TV history..

And think too how USPS would benefit, reaping the savings from handling far less junk mail.

The USPS would be that much closer to bankruptcy if the amount of junk mail was reduced. It isn't mailed for free, and it does generate a lot of money for the Post Office even at the reduced bulk rate.

and those who purchase goods or services from that company must pay higher prices or rates to cover the company's costs in advertising.

Is it just me or do any of you also wish you throw something at your TV every time you're trying to enjoy an NFL game and their fantasy football contest ad with the "Had a Bad Day?" song comes on? Annoying song to begin with--and it's on at least 5 times per game. Ugh.

Those of you in my age group (I'm 26) remember the Post Fruity Pebbles commercials with Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble? And Barney is always after Fred's fruity pebbles and Fred stops him? I didn't think much of those growing up, but now, I find myself irritated by those commercials. Because Flintstones fans know that Barney is not the greedy bastard those commercials make him out to be.

Which is about to take us down that whole path of Silly Rabbit Abuse...

The Go Daddy ad with the model and the computer nerd (and of course Danica Patrick) early in the Super Bowl--need I say more.

I also couldn't stand the pregame Century 21 ad with the guy choking on food in the convenience store.

I have that commercial.

I liked only a few Super Bowl ads - Paul Harvey's "farmer" ad for Dodge Ram, and the Budweiser Clydesdale horse.

Allow me to cast my vote for the new Trojan Twister ad.

Leaving aside the fact that I saw it run on a basic cable channel on Sunday morning,
when any child wandering around the house was liable to see it and start asking questions...
there is just nothing redeeming about this one. Especially when the postal carrier hands
the plain brown wrapped package to the woman at the door and says, "Have a good one!"

I literally jumped out of my chair. Seriously? Did she just say that? The next time we see
this woman she and her significant other are walking around with their hair jetting straight
back as if they both just dismounted a Harley.

Wrapping up with a pitch for this product being "a great Valentines Day Gift". Stay classy out there in TV land!

This would have made a very funny SNL bit twenty five years ago. But as a piece of actual real
life I found it rather unnerving.

How about the current cheerios commercial where a dad gives some cheerios to his baby and his older son goes and takes them. And the dad says the cheerios bandit got you again huh? I mean heck, if I was the dad I would say no no no here let me give you some. Never take cheerios from a baby!

Been MIA on this thread for a while... has anyone mentioned that obnoxiously irritating commercial (something about travel agencies ???) where a horse-faced lard-ass breaks out in song, Two Tickets To Paradise? Were I the sheriff, I'd look the other way if Eddie Money showed up brandishing an ugly stick. Not sure that ugly stick would make any difference though...

The Eddie Money ad was for GEICO, one of many featuring a banjoing duo, saying that saving money with GEICO makes you "happier than Eddie Money running a travel agency."

You know, that IS Eddie Money in the commercial...
Sad, isn't it?
Sad? It's pathetic! Sheriff must have arrived early and whooped up on ol'' Eddie with his own ugly stick! Anyway, my wife and I enjoy those GEICO spots featuring the lizard and the swine, but Eddie Money's commercials turn us off. Bad marketing like that could cause GEICO to lose a lot of "money"!

The new Burger King Whopper for $1.29 commercial. Everyone is dancing, including the manager, about the Whopper being $1.29! Stupid ad...

At least this ad didn't come out at the time this thread originally began (Dec. 2009)--then you would have had to put up with seeing a dancing King in the ad. ;D ;D

The current Honda spot with Abe Lincoln and George Washington singing R&B is bad. Can't wait for the Presidents Day sales to be over.

I hope this isn't speaking too soon, but for some reason I would not be surprised if that Honda campaign continues beyond tomorrow as "we're extending the Presidents' Day sale." I may be wrong but I wonder if this translates to: "The sale didn't go as well as planned." We could have to experience a dancing Abe and George on the latter's actual birthday on Friday (Feb. 22).

That awful State Farm ad with the grandma in the desert (six callers ahead of us!) aired again for the 2,463,325th time. UGH! Like the young boy however, but that's all...
