The worst commercials in TV history..

Calves race? Yes, that's the stupid Liberty Liberty my a$$ people.
Farmers Insurance commercials are 'tolerable'. Meaning, average. Better than GEICO, Liberty Mutual, Progressive dreck.
Limu Emu is even on the RADIO. Aargh! Wish I could slap the people that like them.

The radio spots for Progressive (making people become their parents) are 100% mirthless. State Farm's radio spots where they cover snatches of 90s hits as their selling line makes my head want to a'splode.

The Ford commercial where the woman tries to outrun the Publishers Clearing House people. I think to myself: “Dude! Are you out of your frickin mind?! You’re a freaking millionaire! You just won a million dollars! Those people are there to give you a million dollars! You have any idea how rare winnning this t contest is?!” smh

liberty

I actually liked Flo's "I'm not the maid" commercial. That one made me laugh.
However,
I HATE/DESPISE/LOATHE Liberty's current "libbidee bibbidee" commercial! Someone please throw that guy into New York Harbor before I throw my TV out the window! All I know is that I WOULD NEVER buy insurance from Liberty because of its commercials and I have to wonder how many others would refuse to buy it.

Last year, there was a commercial for DAZN featuring Michael Buffer. It was a 30-second spot and the whole commercial was Michael holding out "Let's get ready to RUMBUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU...". It aired during one of the Thanksgiving NFL games last year which our TV happened to be tuned to in the background. It was so loud and annoying that my mother came running into the room from the kitchen and turned off the TV before it was even over.

OTOH, the Liberty Insurance commercial where the lady helps the genie escape his box is a hoot. Got to watch, and listen, all the way through.

But several posters are correct. Never buy a product that has a ton of advertising. Liberty is one of those.

That new American Express commercial where that woman uses her card liberally. She is going to end up having credit card debt!

Follow it with an ad for a credit counseling service!

As far as the Liberty Mutual ad with the actor who keeps stumbling over saying the name, that one would have been funnier with Mat Leblanc as Joey from Friends.

And now Liberty Mutual has ads with people singing the jingle like in karaoke with the lyrics shown with a bouncing ball. That's the worst yet!

While I'm not sure if the Bigelow Tea ad that features Joe Torre wandering the streets of TriBeCa (view) is one of the worst, it is laughable all the same.

Did you ever notice every car insurance ad is exactly the same? They all have the same message: "save when you combine auto and home". Except Liberty: "buy only what you need". Well, DUH!!!

Is Allstate the only major insurance company without a jingle in their TV ads? Heaven forbid if Dennis Hastert starts a tap dance routine in his next commercial...

That's Dennis Haysbert, not Dennis Hastert. The latter is the former (GW Bush era) Speaker of the House who served time for "taking liberties" with boys, among other offenses.

jolly plumbing

I never heard of Jolly Plumbing until about six weeks ago. Now its commercials are everywhere and I am already very tired of them! Is this a new company? Or is it an old one that suddenly started spending lots of money on TV ads?

Has anybody noticed that one type of commercial may foster lots of almost identical others?

Here in Phoenix we had one prominent advertiser of replacement windows. Within a month or two I noticed another. Then another. Now we have perhaps half a dozen window replacement advertisers. Some are even naming their competition by name.

I'm sure the TV sales guys love this.

Oh, Lord, yes, THANK you for this.

Dennis Haysbert certainly does NOT deserve to be confused with Dennis Hastert.

Is there as old as me, and remembers Ed Reimers for AllState? He would say, "You're in good hands with Allstate," and would cup his hands in front of him.

So there was this Guitar Center commercial circa 2000 where a distraught young woman is at a payphone in the middle of nowhere desperately trying to get a hold of her boyfriend and there's an announcer who states: "This is the weekend he promised to take you camping....THEN GUITAR CENTER HAD TO HAVE IT'S BIGGEST SALE!" I was raised to believe your word is your bond. And you keep your promises no matter what. It broke my heart to see the woman distraught and the guy putting a sale at guitar center above her.

In these uncertain times.

We're here for you.

We're all in this together.

NEED I SAY MORE?
