The worst commercials in TV history..

The nightline dating ads like these, I’m surprised they’re still running:
One of the most annoying ad campaigns of late is that of Bob's Discount Furniture, which contains a sort of deification (spelled carefully) of Bob Kaufman with the tagline "Oh My Bob!"
That stuff is still on the air? I don't watch local TV stations that late, but yikes.
I imagine quite a few people feel “Doug’s” plight, having to train someone to replace you at a smaller salary (even excusing his incompetence).
Are you referring to this?
Two thoughts:
- I find it somewhat disturbing that the three people at the table opening their box lunches occurs in tandem with a description of possible effects upon, pardon me, the perineum, along with verbiage on the screen that describes precisely what this consists of (it's at about 0:37)
- I feel bad for the guy who has a very prominent case of gynecomastia
Some entries into my personal hall of shame:
- Jardiance - nuff said
- Limu Emu (I wish all Liberty Mutual commercials were as classy and understated as the underwriting spots they produce for PBS shows like "American Experience")
- Flo - special dishonorable mention to "I'll Stand by You." Chrissie Hynde must have really needed the money.
- Fiber One with a bowdlerized version of "Total Eclipse of the Heart"
- Any food commercial where the actors look like they're about to come while eating. No food on earth tastes THAT good.
- The Law Brothers (last name Lalezary I think?) in L.A. Actors unconvincingly portraying actual clients is bad enough, but they add the catchphrase "BOOM!" on top of it. They may find it cute; I find it irritating.
- The recent "adulting sucks" commercial from Heinz with some Disney princess type singing about how much she loved Heinz on spaghetti (yecch!) as a kid and how being an adult sucks because she can't have it anymore.
- That whole Justin Timberlake-sounding "fishay fishay" jingle when McDonald's briefly marketed Fish Nuggets.
- "Nothing's missed with Tena Twist" sung by a very unconvincing Adele wannabe
- "Progress-Oh!" for Progresso Soup, especially the bad acting and unconvincing fawning over a woman's weight loss. Makes me long for the days of the old "There's no soup like Progresso" jingle.
- Honey Nut Cheerios: "I invented the microchip." Just stupid.

If only Limu Emu would unexpectedly snap and turn on both of these clowns
Does ANYONE find the Doug/Limu series of commercials funny? I have a high level of stupid tolerance. The Jardiance song-and-dance makes me laugh out loud. I enjoy most of the Progressive Flo ads. I even get an occasional chuckle out of Jake from State Farm. But I don't think I've ever as much as smiled weakly at any Liberty Mutual ad since one of the first -- the one where Doug gets the key to the city and Limu's parents are in the crowd. Weak, VERY weak smile. So ... is there anyone here who can explain why this campaign continues? Are more people really amused by Doug and his emu than are completely turned off?
There's been terrible local ads in Kansas City for a law firm called Jungle Law, they've been running for a few years now. These are examples, but the ones I'm thinking of are where the lawyer is in a bar:

My family actually likes the Limu and Doug series of commercials. Doug is so earnest about it all, his replacement has a head as empty as he is attractive and an emu just walking around an office being Doug's assistant/sidekick is amusing. Simple concept, well executed.
Maybe I'm just as empty headed as I am attractive.
