The worst mid-day show in Atlanta

OK, you've talked about mornings. Now what about mid-days. Who is the worst?

Typical knee-jerk, cheap-shot reaction.

Those guys host a show that requires quite a bit of show prep, focus, ad-lib and phone skills and their show is "hands down" worse than the voicetrackers' on the soft rock stations?

Think about what you're writing...

First I don't even consider a VT shift to be a show to even comment on. Second I do not listen to those stations so I can not vote for what I do not listen to. All I know is I used to listen to the zone all the time., on the way to work, all day at my desk and on the way home. Then they shuffled the line-up. I listened for two weeks then stopped listening. Then the TRG and Rock 100.5 came along, now I almost never listen to the zone and certainly not to Brandon and Woolvy.

Troone,
The question was the worst.
Brandon and Woolvy is dreadful radio for a small market, let alone a city like Atlanta.
The survey radio they trot out every day takes little creativity and show prep.
They certainly don't sound major market as Peter Brady sounded crisper than Woolvy.
Better yet, they try to tell the audience that no one talks more college football than us or watches more NBA than us.
Somebody at 790 has to get to these two and say who cares! Nobody knows who you are. Build some credibility without telling us that you think you already have it.
This is college radio at best and it shows how far the money issues have hit 790.
Colin Cowherd is a top talent and he smokes these guys rarely talking anything about Atlanta.

790 sounds worse than college radio ALL day parts. Those two sound as small market as the rest of them. Fake Shapiro is a joke, Hometown is a kid who should be working his way up in Valdosta or some other small market.
What a joke. Tech and the Hawks should remove themselves from that fraud of a station!

Brandon - Brandon Adams, UGA guy, talks like he is eating a sandwich or has some other foreign object in his moth,

Woolvy - A snarky, Canuck who make a pre-pubescent Peter Brady sound manly.

They can be heard(if you have the stomach for them) on 790 the Zone from 11 - 1 pm. The zone thinks so highly of them they gave them a 2 hour shift.

Thats the other thing. Who, on local sports talk radio, really has a great voice? Other than Rude and maybe Bell, no one. Nationally, Cowherd's voice is average, Tirico's is less than average.

It's a popular pastime to bash any weekend jock who has the temerity to go full-time. Bash them that they can't connect or dont know sports, but, as for criticizing voices...it hasn't hurt Kincade.

We are not talking about not liking them because they are not great voivces. The point with these two is they have distracting voices.

Bring back Ferrell (scotie Boy) you know the voice instantly

Great point about the vocies on sports radio, it is not about the vocie quality of the hosts, but when the content sucks and the shows are not compelling, the voices are just an added annoyance.

And those two clowns are on the air for one reason, and one reason only. THEY WORK FOR NOTHING!!! $400 at week at best and all the crappy food they can eat on trade at Stats!

Troone if you're saying that a jock shouldn't be bashed because of his/her voice quality but instead for the
content on what they have to say.......wasn't it you a couple years back that referred to Kelly McCoy as
a "puker", sounding like he was spitting all over the mike? I think you took some shots at Jordan Graye and
Steve and Vicki as well.

Impressive memory, amItherightcaller. I must have insulted you personally for you to remember that post. If I did, I apologize. (I also wrote that I was a little bit of a puker back in the day too!)

I do think Kelly McCoy is a puker, but I dont mind listening to him, b/c he's a competent jock. I think Jordan Graye has a reasonably pleasant voice and cares not a whit about making memorable radio (I know I know, her hands are tied, yadda yadda). I really dont think of S&V as pukers; I dont think I wrote that.

Back on topic, I think my defense of Brandon and Woolvy is a reaction to the all-too-human jealousy that always follows a weekend move to weekdays. Particularly on sports radio, where every one has an opinion about everything a jock does.

Brandon and Woolvy are so bad they should have their own catagory. I hit 790 by accident instead of 920 today and thought I was hearing the somewhat shrill Laura Ingraham with a bit of a cold. Lo and behold it was Woolvy.

Anyway, I have to nominate Erin on 100.5 just for sheer laziness. She's not very good on the mic to begin with, but she does absolutely nothing w/ phones, digging up tidbits about artists she's playing, etc. It's almost like she has instructions to do nothing other than read promos and play it/say it.
