That's not smart.
My thoughts exactly. I was reading that sentence and my brow almost instinctively furrowed.

This is so sad. I guess someone in that area needed audio equipment they couldn't afford :-[, or needed the money that resale would bring . A few weeks ago Acoustic Alchemy's tour bus was broken into while it was parked in a hotel parking lot and most of their instruments and equipment was ripped off. C'mon people. Don't take stuff that doesn't belong to you!

Insuring the equipment was probably prohibitive cost-wise since this station is a nonprofit on a shoestring budget, relies heavily on listener donations, and the area is hurricane and flood prone so coverage of any type is high and hard to get. To tell the truth I have never heard of a radio station getting broken into like. The brunch show I work with is on in the same market, it's a lovely place with lots of nice people and has been quite a hotbed of support for this music. Guess everybody isn't so nice. I just got hit by a massive vet bill but I'm gonna send them a lil' something. Everything counts in small amounts.

I seem to recall a news story from that part of the country a few years ago where someone was
going around vandalizing and stealing from radio stations. Turned out he was assembling the parts
to put together his own pirate station (which made him very easy to catch once he went on-air)

Great story. I'm sure that wound up in the "dumb criminal" archives we hear all about on the news. It's amazing how dumb some people are.

I wonder if a police report was filed on the theft and vandelism, interesting.
