Anchoring on KTAR Saturday afternoon...Kevin Christopher!!??
He had accepted a News Director position in Wisconsin, or some such "cheesy" place... :-*

Meanwhile, back at the AM "news" station... :p George Obi was promoted to days from nights at KFYI and assigned webmaster duties--Then, in a surprise move, he left for a TV station...
 
I was listening to KT'R on Saturday and I heard Kevin Christopher's voice. I was wondering where he has been. I didn't know he got a new job. I guess it didn't work out and now he is back home.
 
I believe I called the KFYI departure a few weeks back on this board...but it certainly wasn't Mr. Obi.

Actually, there's no suspense. The entire news staff is trying to get out. The morale has never been lower.

And as stated on this board before, two of their talkers have had talks with KT'R about jumping.
 
I wondered if George were the one to whom Happy had alluded before--Though he was not the most "visible" reporter. I might have been told which TV station, but I am sorry, I cannot recall it...

Also, just found out Kevin Christopher had moved away for the new job, but his family remained here for a bit. Then, his wife got a promotion, so he has returned. He was subbing Saturday, and is seeking full-time--somewhere...

Mike Anthony tried to lure Jared to his camp--but, for now, I thought he has opted to remain at KFYI...?
(Of course, Mike lured him away from Skyview to KFYI in the first place...)

On Sunday, Jim Sharpe announced that would be his last Sunday show. He said he did not want to work 6 days a week--So, who or what will fill that talk slot?

I'm off today, Columbus Day, so got a chance to tune in to Barry Young...Steven Gregory was in town as a guest. He said he is paid a lot more at KFI in L.A. Barry said he is not under contract at KFYI and he is making less than he did four years ago if considering factors such as inflation. His sidekick, Michele, did not know the name of the new P.D.... Did not realize they were such an independent entity... Is it a Kommando package deal situation?

We can't blame him. This leaves Gaydos the only six day a week talker..but he needs the experience!

It was the Chickboss that went after him. The Nearly Bald One was perfectly content producing his wife's show and bending elbows with the Beer Baron. TNBO was exactly what KFWhyEYE needed after moving to 5~Fifty as Mohan had reached his prime and then some. As Nurse Jeff says, Mr Kommando is the "I" in team and will never change. We hope TMISU are foolish enough to hire him and they have as much joy putting up with his antics as the CCU suits!

The suggestion that Barry and his clapper sound effects would make KT'R stronger shows just how hard up for talk show hosts this market has become. Isn't there anyone better on TMISoiledU's recommendation list?
 
My money is on a Sharpe departure within the week. He's a classy guy, and has helped another KTAR alum get in position to take over his Sunday show.

Kevin Christopher returns to KTAR! He did Arizona's Morning News with Connie Weber. Great to hear Kevin again. I didn't much of the program, so I don't know if he explained where he has been/what has he been doing.

Agreed. Nurse Jeff and I kept an ample supply of barf bags everytime Michael Dixon sat in for Network Ned! Now if only TMISU could bring in someone decent to handle Aunt Carlos' show...the Noon News...Pat McBland...Ded Simons...Gaydos...etc.
