There are no morning shows here

Surveying the Cleveland area radio landscape to find who does not have a morning show during the morning drive hours. My bar is low. All a station has to do is call it a morning show, and I'll say..."OK".
Those college stations that are block programmed don't have morning shows with any consistency. 92.3 FM, the no talent juke box (except for the Sunday night local show) doesn't have a morning show. Now we move our attention to the AM dial. Two of the religious stations don't have a morning show. WCCD AM 1000 and WHKW 1220 AM don't have anything specific for morning drive. When I put them on, they just had preaching/teaching talk on that sounded pre-recorded. It can be argued that Radio Disney at 1260 AM doesn't have a morning show, nor needs too, as they target the little kids and just seem to do, in morning drive, exactly what they do the rest of the day. By the same token, they do have live network personalities on.

I can argue relative quality in some cases, but what about: Trapper Jack, Wills & Snyder, Lannigan & Malone, Rover, and until recently Wilde & Fee?

I realize that you guys don't give no respect to classical music, but WCLV has had a morning show since 1962 - with the usual accouterments: news, weather, traffic, time signals, features, humor, and, of course, music. It's called First Program and runs from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. My guess is that it is the longest running morning show in northeast Ohio. The current host, for the past (almost) 10 years, is Jacqueline Gerber. We don't have much of a revolving door around here, nor do we changes things very often.

Mr. Conrad:
You make a great point..I also would like to mention WCRF's Live, Local "Morning Program" with Mark Zimmerman..Previously hosted by Bob Devine for about 30 years..It still airs from 5:15-845 Monday-Friday

Read the title of this thread. I only mentioned stations that don't have a morning show. All others do, and any station not listed in my opening post is an acknowledgement that they do have a morning show. Even the technically-challenge

(Somehow the message posted itself before I was done) ... Even the technically challenged WJTB gets a pass as they have a piped in morning show, even though it sounds like its over an unequalized phone line.

I have the utmost respect for WCLV and classical music, I just wish I could pick up the station here in Kent or else I'd listen more. I have to get my classical music fix from WKSU most of the time. Anyway, my friend (and co-host on Black Squirrel Radio) interned at WCLV over the summer and he really enjoyed it. The thing that surprised him the most for some reason was that you are a big fan of the Daily Show, something he keeps bringing up on air whenever the subject of Jon Stewart comes up! ;D

About not getting WCLV in Kent...don't forget you can listen to the station on the Internet. Your friend who interned at WCLV this past summer is a very sharp guy. He will do well in radio.
