There's less Yo Yo on Wild 92.5/105.7

Possibly, I've noticed that too. I'm hearing Ke$ha's "Die Young", Ellie Goulding's "Lights", Ne-Yo's "Let Me Love You", stuff that *doesn't* belong on a hip-hop station.

When SA gets a hip-hop station it'll be a happy day for those who are into real hip-hop. We have 4 or 5 Spanish and Spanish Christian channels taking up most of the translators. That format's even less popular than hip-hop is.

Those Spanish Christian channels are non commercial. They are not in it for the ratings.
If there is a lot of sponsors those will still be on.

Those Spanish channels, KROM is in the top 10. KXTN is not as hot as it was in the 90's but Tejano music serves a sample of San Antonio's Hispanic community just not as big as it used to with the Regional Mexican formatted stations.

104.1 is Norteno and a rimshot. Deportes 720 serves San Antonio and outlying areas (I seem to think it was flipped to serve as a placeholder for now defunct Elgin's KXXS.)
 
I'm hearing DJs on Wild now, just heard a guy say that the new Calvin Harris song is coming up or something like that. Probably voice tracked or they're using one of the iHeart channels.
 
The HD signals on KQXT are dead, I recently got an HD Radio receiver for my iPhone from Radio Shack and tuned it in today. Yesterday, KQXT's HD was working. Perhaps a tech glitch.


But the question is, why is 105.7 still up, when they're translating KQXT HD3? Isn't the translator supposed to shut off if the primary station does? I guess this doesn't matter though, it's nothing compared to what else goes on.

All they have to do is repeat the offering on KRPT 92.5 to satisfy FCC requirements.
The HD is irrelevant here. For example 103.7 translates KAHL 1310 AM which is not in HD.

Glitch maybe or it could be a cost cutting measure with licensing fees and such.

I wouldn't go by what radio-locator has listed for the main. There are countless stations on radio-locator that are incorrect and not updated.

They don't have to change their application. They only have to notify the FCC via letter so you will probably not see the main station listed...only what was on the original app.

If the licensee of an FM translator station wants to change the primary station being rebroadcast, it may do so without prior authority from the Commission. If the translator is owned by an entity other than the owner of the new primary FM station, the owner must secure the permission of the primary station to rebroadcast its programming before commencing operation. This is a statutory requirement. See 47 U.S.C. Section 325(a); see also Footnote 52 of the Report and Order in MM Docket 88-140, 5 FCC Rcd 7212, 7245 (1990). The translator licensee must notify the Commission by letter of ANY change in the primary FM station rebroadcast, and the letter should be mailed to the following address:.....This change will be examined to verify that the change in primary station complies with the Commission's translator rules, such as signal delivery requirements (see below).
 
Wild seems to be gaining traction. According to Arbitron, the cume in August 2012 was 11,500. Now, Wild is up to 111,000. Not bad for a low power station.

Also, every Friday morning around 8:45a Wild is in the mix. It usually last for about 30 mins.

Personally, I prefer Wild over KTFM. The playlist is broader and not as repetive.

Cox should of jumped into this before Clear channel did. I bet most of the listeners are on K289BN, I doupt many are on 92.5. I even sometimes can pick up 105.7 near Austin with my directional antenna more than I could 92.5, KVLR mainly comes in on 92.5 here.

Can you receive KZOS-LP 92.5? Or not at all?

Nope never have, I have my antenna pointed to San antonio, so KRPT comes in before KZOS which is more north where I am.
 
What's up with K289BN 105.7's processing? Keeps changing. Half the time it's okay, but half the time it changes and becomes mid-intensive and quiet, then it's all bassy. Keeps bouncing around. They should leave it at one setting.
