THESE TWO RUINED WVLT

This was always a unique oldies formatted station, no rules, regs, just real fun. Andy Volvo, Frankie G and Delsi did a great job, playing oldies you don't hear on the radio anymore, "all types". Then the good times end, Carl has to unload these three great jocks and put in the two Wanna-Be Soul Jocks, notice on their shows, especially cutie pie in the morning, the damn lineup is all soul. He plays all this obscure soul music, just like he is in his garage playing for his R&B folk. Listen up clown, there is so much more music out there, then comes his clone to continue the jive talk and play the uncharted R&B cuts. I cannot say anything bad about Fleetwood, he does throw in plenty of good oldies. A Little Bit To Late-Wayne Fontana, Pretty Flamingo-Manfred Mann, Have I the Right-Honeycombs, he really pulls out the great tunes, you can tell the difference as soon as his shift starts. Cutie pie is worst on Saturday, which is hard to accomplish, after listening to his "one-sided" show, why CH unloaded the three jocks he had and put these two characters on is beyond me. I would of just added Fleetwood late nights and kept the original three. These two Soul Boys are destroying the station. Thank God for WMID when I am in the area.

Please. Stop. Now. Are you retired? What do you do? A person with this much free time should find his way to some words that are actually printed on paper. He may find a whole world of imagination: Hispanics, Gays, Negroes, all frolicking in the woods together, perhaps, dressed in candy-colored outfits, eating Cheesesteaks from Geno's. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee! But I digress....Usually the complaints about music are that it is too familiar. That alone, makes you a novelty AND an anacronism.Go get a library card.

Carl had nothing to do with the unloading. Nearly every negative change to WVLT since 1998 has to be put squarely at the feet of the station's owner.Joe Patti ran one of the best Adult Contemporary outlets around on a shoestring budget. Then the owner demanded that more and more time be brokered for "talk shows" which eventually led to Patti's departure. The owner brought in Jerry Blavat, who started making unreasonable demands left and right. Any person that Blavat didn't like for any reason was fired or forced to quit (through Blavat threatening to pull his show and his money if he didn't get his way). Blavat demanded the change to Oldies in 2002 (initially a good move), and has progressively pressured to remake the station in his own image ever since. Please don't blame Carl Hemple for the destruction of WVLT. That blame properly lies with the Ego that ate the Italian Market, the Philly Jock who can't even pronounce "Tacony" correctly, the Geezer From The Freezer, the Boss With The Teeth What's False, Jerry Blavat.

I really did not know JB had that much clout with the station. We all know he gets what he wants or he will cry until he gets action. The station is going to go downhill if he has "HIS SOUND" rammed down the listeners throats 24/7. Its so good to hear Etta, Big Joe T, Pookie and the other kats that he hung with. Give me a break. The British Invasion killed his two-bit sound here in the mid 60's and he still has a hot nut for that style of music. [EDIT-name calling]
