They preempted that for this?

With the Clemson/Florida State game that was supposed to be on ABC being canceled there has been a shakeup of games on ABC and ESPN. Florida/Vanderbilt was moved from ESPN to ABC. Appalachian State/Central Carolina went from ESPN 2 to ESPN. Arkansas State/Texas State went to ESPN2, and I'm not sure if any other games were shuffled from other ESPN networks.

I was browsing around ESPN+ and ESPN3 online and clicked on Arkansas St./Texas St., which was supposed to be on ESPN3. I got a message that the game was "no longer available." Sure enough, it had been switched to ESPN2 -- from its previous lowest-of-the-low status as an online-only freebie on ESPN3 -- to give that network something, ANYTHING to fill the time slot. Desperate times for college football and ESPN when such a nothingburger of a game is the best available for the early Saturday afternoon slot!

actually it was originally scheduled for ESPNU then got simulcast on both ESPN2 & ESPNU when the other games moved up the rank

and honestly the "lowest of the low" would be (IMO) a local broadcast only. :)

Even with CBS having a game other than SEC, the network still failed to sign off on time for 7:00 ET. Like multiple other games, the game itself ended just before 7:00, but the CBS Postgame Show ran even longer than usual, not signing off until 7:13.

At this point, the only way a CBS game can officially end by 7:00 is for the fourth quarter to start no later than 6:05 ET, which definitely won't happen.

The best way for CBS to finish at 7 PM ET is to start their game earlier, like 2:30 or 3 PM since they normally don't have an early game. But I don't know if they have an agreement with the NCAA to start their games at 3:30 like ABC and Fox. Otherwise they need to plan their schedule to run to at least 7:30. But we've been through that before.

Or just not do an entire 10-15 minute postgame show on the broadcast network. Stick to 5 minutes max or tell viewers to switch to CBS Sports for the postgame show like FOX and NBC do.

Which would you consider lower ranked, ESPN+ or ESPN3?

ESPN3 is available free to anyone with a participating ISP, regardless of whether their contract includes a cable subscription. ESPN+ also requires no cable subscription, and is available to anyone with an internet connection and an account for billing, but costs about $6 a month. ESPN puts some decent events on ESPN3, but generally the better matchups go to ESPN+.

Typically the main reason for the post-game is it's sponsored. Gotta get those spots in!

True, but ABC had a sponsored post-game last season, "The Ford Wrap-Up", and that was no more than a two-minute segment after one final commercial break.

And at this point, ABC should maybe consider having a de-facto end time of 11:30 ET as well, like TNF. I remember some games ending on time for 11:00 last year even with Ford Wrap-Up, but so far no games ended at 11:00 this season; most go until 11:15-20 with no post-game.

They'll never change it unless it states in the contract. Otherwise its gonna start at 2:30 (CST)

per the SEC on CBS wiki
The SEC's unique contract giving them a guaranteed time slot with national coverage on a broadcast television station differs from other conferences, which are not guaranteed during the season at the 3:30 p.m. slot

I'm sorry but you remind me of the old lady who whines every week that 60 minutes is delayed due to the NFL
Its been that way (SEC on CBS) since 1998

plus CBS SN usually has a game in the same timeslot

The affiliates should just schedule infomercials at 7pm so people won't complain about the overrun.

Unless an episode is 20 years old you can't tell. Once they changed to electronic letters and HD you can't tell what year it is.

Huh? The cars they give away are from the current model year. The 2016 show would be giving away 2016 cars. Maybe only car buffs would be able to tell the difference, but surely most viewers would realize that a show is 10 or 15 years old if they see a car that old being awarded as a prize, especially if it was a model (or make) that had been discontinued a decade before the current year. Are you telling me that hearing "It's a new Saturn Vue!" wouldn't tell you that you were watching an old episode?
