They preempted that for this?

According to listings, KMGH in Denver is preempting today's Bundesliga match between Bayern Munich & Borussia Dortmund to air E/I programming from 10AM-12:30 Mountain time. Apparently, they really want to get all that E/I programming in, last week, they preempted the first hour (11AM-Noon MT) of the NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships to air E/I stuff. They can't even be bothered to show it on a subchannel or their sister independent station, KCDO, meaning soccer fans in the Mile High City will have to pay up & watch via ESPN+. In Orlando, WFTV is bumping the Bundesliga coverage to sister station WRDQ as they're airing the Florida Puerto Rican Parade and Festival.

WFAA in Dallas & WPLG in Miami is also preempting Bundesliga for E/I programming & the former airing infomercials from Noon-1:30 Central.

It's that time of year again with the NFL Draft upon us where for many ABC affiliates, they'll be schedule changes for those that show the popular Jeopardy!/Wheel Of Fortune game show combo. Of course Friday will be the day where it'll get bumped to late night or even the weekend, but even tomorrow here in NYC, WABC will show Jeopardy, but bump Wheel to show a half-hour NFL Draft special leading into coverage, Rare for them to do this, but understandable considering the Giants & Jets, barring trades, have 2 picks each in the top ten this year.

CW programming in Minneapolis gets pushed tonight after the Twins game which starts at 6 CDT so approximately 9:30

The Twins get bumped from Bally Sports due to both the Minnesota Wild on BSN+ and game 6 of NBA playoffs (Timberwolves) on BSN

CBS announced more West Coast preemptions for its daytime with UEFA soccer for the month of May. It looks most stations will continue to do what they have been doing i.e airing the soaps later or overnight and/or directing viewers to a sub channel or sister station. Article below:

KABC preempted American Idol for the Los Angeles Mayoral Candidates Debate yesterday.

The live showing aired on independent KDOC, a station that KABC has a news partnership with. The encore showing did air on KABC, at 8pm local time.

On Saturday, WBAL in Baltimore preempted NBC's USFL early game between Tampa Bay & Philadelphia to do their annual local pre-Preakness coverage from 1-4PM, although NBC network coverage of the Preakness didn't start until 4:10 due to TB/PHI running long. Wonder if WBAL just did more coverage to kill time before the network joined, simulcasted CNBC, who started the coverage before NBC joined, or showed the end of the USFL game. Also, NBC cut away from Michigan/Birmingham at 10:57 Eastern & bumped the conclusion to CNBC in order to give affiliates in ET/CT time zones to do local news before the SNL season finale.

WCPO seemed to have something against any soap not produced by Procter & Gamble.
"Love of Life" and "Secret Storm" were seen on an on-again/off-again basis, and I don't
think the station carried "Y&R" when it was new. I wonder if P&G, a Cincinnati company,
put the pressure on Channel 9 not to carry those shows.

IIRC, Channel 20 in San Francisco carried "The Price Is Right" when KPIX pre-empted
it for "People Are Talking," a version of which was seen on most of the Group W
stations (I think KDKA had "Pittsburgh 2Day," so named because the station is on
analog channel 2).

WJW was the CBS affiliate in Cleveland and a sister station of WAGA. I remember when
"Hawaii Five-O" was on WAGA Saturdays at 5 and "Medical Center" was on Channel 17;
Channel 5 carried movies on Wednesday nights. That's the same reason "Lost In Space"
didn't get on in-pattern in Atlanta, Charlotte, or Greensboro (WSPA showed reruns of
another Irwin Allen show, "The Time Tunnel," on Wednesdays at 7:30).

That joke about putting the Vietnam war on ABC is attributed to Milton Berle, after
the cancellation of his Friday-night comeback attempt in 1966. One-half of his
timeslot was filled by "Rango," with Phyllis Diller's reworked sitcom filling the other half.

I remember in 1993, WYFF in Greeneville was supposed to carry a Clemson game instead of Notre Dame-FSU, but WLOS in Asheville did a deal with WYFF to air Clemson. Has that happened where a station swapped games with another station to air the network game because it was more important?

The ABC affiliate in Dallas, TX, WFAA had a technical issue where a local ad break aired during the opening monologue for Jimmy Kimmel Live last night which touched on the tragic shooting in Texas on Tuesday. https://deadline.com/2022/05/dallas...ologue-texas-shooting-politicians-1235033463/
(Video of WFAA tech issue)
It'd happen again later on in the show. WFAA has apologized for it & linked ppl on their social media to the full video of the monologue. I'm sure this wouldn't have happened if they were like the rest of the major network stations in DFW being an O&O rather than being owned by TEGNA who seems to like screwing things up.

yeah, WFAA also had to air the entire monologue at 11:30 AM this morning during their 1 hour midday news with a apology at the beginning, the reason the snafu happened was WFAA's 10 PM Newscast went past it's normal end time and delayed Kimmel and it messed up the automation of the commercials' timing as the show didn't come on at the normal time but a couple of minutes late and this wasn't even the first time this week WFAA screwed up and made people miss a potion of Jimmy Kimmel Live as Tuesday's show was joined in progress after WFAA's newscast at 10 PM was extended to cover the tragedy in Uvalde.

I agree, wished Disney owned WFAA instead of TEGNA, or soon Cox Media Group, let's hope Disney makes a trade with Cox (who is taking over ownership of WFAA once the TEGNA/Standard General Merger is complete) with their smaller market stations KFSN in Fresno, CA and WTVD in Raleigh/Durham/Fayetteville, NC for WFAA and KMPX 29 because Disney needs to get out of those smaller markets and own the lone Big 4 network station not owned by a TV Network and it's parent company.

Can Nelson give us details about last night?
I didn’t know anything about the Kimmel deal. I came on to post about WSOC preempting the first 45 minutes of the Grey’s season finale due to severe weather coverage.

They are re-airing it at 1pm today. Iniciar sesión en Facebook

Not sure why that showed up in Spanish.
