They preempted that for this?

I don't know whether this was on all CBS stations but WBTV had a Braves game last Friday. I don't know what would have been pre-empted.
ummmmmm...no
My CBS had a hockey game (as seen in my last post). That CBS you are referring to is owned by GrayTV so that is why. Friday programming is/was Sheriff Country, Fire Country and Country Country (just kidding...it was Boston Blue)

This week is more pre-emptions on WDIO Duluth, MN due to high school hockey. Most high school championships are on WDIO-DT2 MeTV which is carried in HD. But high school hockey gets priority on WDIO ABC
Wednesday from 11am-5pm and 6pm-10pm
Thursday from 11am-5pm and 6pm-10pm
Fridays from 11am-5pm and 6pm-10pm
Saturday from noon-3pm and 7pm-10pm

programming moves as such
General Hospital moves to WDIO-DT2. 1pm-2pm
News moves to WDIO-DT2 6-6:30pm
regular programming moves to 1am the next morning still on WDIO
Saturdays regular sports programming will be on WDIO-DT2 (the NHL game during the day and NBA at night)

Well if it was an afternoon game (it was) then what is ever on from 1:30-4:30 or so was preempted. Or maybe 1-4:30 if there was a pregame
B&B, beyond the gates and a fluff news program would have been nuked or moved

Last night in Minneapolis KARE 11 (NBC) delayed the late night shows until 1:35 due to showing the MN Timberwolves game which started at 10pm. It was the only affiliate in MN to show it. The other markets had to show the early NBA game.

who decides what game is shown? did the late game have any impact on rush hour in the twin cities?

who decides what game is shown?
NBC does but since it was the local team KARE got both games. Depending on the team that is playing but it is rare that a central time zone station got the late game. This week they did due to the Wolves playing on the west coast.

did the late game have any impact on rush hour in the twin cities?
Huh? What the hell does that have to do with anything? It was a road game in LA.

It's not really a preemption but last Saturday on KCWI 23 (The CW) in Des Moines aired the movie Iron Eagle at 10pm. The movie was 2 hours and 30 minutes but after 1 hour and 50 minutes they showed commercials then at midnight a paid program came on and never finished the movie.

I’d rather watch the paid program, that movie stinks!

Thursday KXLT Fox Rochester, MN pre-empted some programming to show St Louis Cardinals spring training baseball. Since KXLT is also in Iowa that is why.
programming pre-empted was Tamron Hall. Sherri and Funny You Should Ask (the Twins spring training game is on KXLT-DT2 (North Star Sports Network) at same time

Also KYOU Ottumwa, IA pre-empted programming on FOX today for the Twins Spring Training Game. Normally its carried on KYOU-DT3 (365 Black) but due to Iowa High School basketball being on there and the Cardinals game on DT4 CW they put the Twins game on FOX pre-empting Judge Judy, Tribunal Justice and Hot Bench. CW programing removed was Chicago Fire, Steve and Maury. (NBC is on -2)

WKBN in Youngstown, OH preempted The CBS Evening News with Bob Scheiffer on Saturday nights for Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Now surely, there was a better time slot to put it on where ppl won’t have to miss the news. Like perhaps, at 7:00?

Today KEYC-DT2 Fox Mankato showed the Twins game, which was also carried on the Northstar Sports Network (KMNF DT3). Normally they are on Northstar Sports
All programming except new episode of ‘Perfect Line’ was preempted. Perfect line is on at 1am tonight, preempting 2nd episode of Last Man Standing
Programming not shown was Flip Side, Scrambled Up, 2nd episode of Perfect Line, Judy Justice and Tribunal Justice.

Wheel of Fortune this past Thursday and Friday was on KEYC CBS after the basketball…..in place of news
Since Gray TV owns everything in Mankato (CBS FOX NBC and CW) news at 6 & 10 were just on NBC and not on both CBS and NBC (same news)

This pre-emption is different. The Drew Barrymore Show airs from 3pm-4pm on KDSM Fox 17, Des Moines but instead from 3pm-3:30pm they aired commercials that seem to be on a loop. 2 commercials that have singing, a Family Fued promo, full measure promo, a promo for UFL Football and a toothpaste commercial with John Michael Higgins then they start all over again.

Drew Barrymore then came on at 3:30pm

Tonight is the first of 10 local D'backs broadcasts simulcasted on KPNX (NBC/Phoenix) as the D'backs host the Detroit Tigers in the home opener. Because of this, Dateline at 3 gets bumped for a one-hour pregame, then in primetime, new episodes of St. Denis Medical, The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, & The Voice will air overnight at 12:38AM after Seth Meyers.

on Friday the MN Twins game is going to be on local TV in the area
Mankato, MN KEYC-DT2 Fox
pre-empting (from 2-6:30)
Judy Justice, Tribunal Justice, Family Feud x2, 25 Words or Less, Rerun of Jeopardy, Young Sheldon x2, Big Bang. Other than 25 Words the others are reruns
Jeopardy Rerun is on Friday late night at Midnight, Young Sheldon reruns at 1 & 2 am, Big Bang rerun at 2:30am

Ottumwa, Iowa its on KYOU FOX pre-empting Judy Justice, Tribunal Justice, Judge Judy x2, Young Sheldon x2, Big Bang (3-6)

Duluth, MN its on KBJR-DT2 CBS pre-empting Lets Make a Deal, Kelly Clarkson, News at 4, 1 hour of Jeopardy, CBS Evening News, Inside Edition and a local show Northern Life. Guide listings do not list if it will be shown later (Jeopardy and Kelly would probably be the only two big ones) (2-7)

Fargo/Grand Forks it is on CBS KVLY-DT2/K28MA/KXJB-LD pre-empting Hot Bench x2, Judge Judy, Jeopardy x2, news at 5:30 (3-6)
