They preempted that for this?

WFSB in Hartford scheduled the Operation Smile infomercial tonight in the 7PM time slot normally occupied by Inside Edition and Entertainment tonight.

A quick search on my Xfinity app shows that WFSB will also be airing it next Wednesday 12/11 at the same time, also on Saturdays 12/14 and 12/28.

WNBC New York will be airing it on Saturdays 12/7 and 12/21, also in the 7 PM hour, which pre-empts an infomercial and 1st Look. Until recently, 7:00 was George to the Rescue, but it seems WNBC doesn't carry it anymore (it doesn't show up in listings for fellow O&O WVIT either, assuming they carried it).

KHON in Hawaii ended up pre-empting Wheel of Fortune two days in a row - on Wednesday by the shooting coverage, then on Thursday by "Hawaii Stars Christmas Special". Being a FOX station, Wheel moves to 8:00 PM on Thursdays due to the game, but was replaced by this hour-long special yesterday (along with Inside Edition which is moved to 8:30 on Thursdays). When I contacted KHON asking if there were any plans to make up Thursday's episode, they told me they could not because the syndicator of Wheel would not allow them to air the show later than 10:00 PM Hawaii time.

Wheel was also pre-empted on two other affiliates on Thursday (besides TNF), and Jeopardy! on one.

WNEM in Flint/Saginaw, Michigan (CBS) aired their annual "Better Deals Holiday Special" home shopping show from 7-8 Eastern. Wheel and Jeopardy! were both moved to their MyTV .2 sub (branded "TV5+"), replacing a newscast and Access Hollywood. Using the sub is a fairly new thing for them. Up until a couple years ago, J! would air overnight on WNEM while Wheel wouldn't air at all, then last year, Wheel got bumped overnight as well, then shortly afterwards was when they began moving the shows to TV5+ during any pre-emptions (March Madness, etc.).

KOMU in Columbia, Missouri (NBC) aired another "severe weather preparation" special, which they always air in Wheel's 6:30 time slot (even though they double-run Jeopardy! at 4:00 and 4:30 and still do so when Wheel is pre-empted). In past instances, Wheel wouldn't air at all, although this time, it got bumped to 1:37 AM, a Paid Programming slot.

ABC's broadcast of the Pac-12 Championship college football game affected late afternoon/evening syndies on the West Coast, and the game overran by 19 minutes.

WABC New York began the news at 11:52 PM Eastern and Kimmel was delayed to 12:26 AM (presumably on all of the East Coast).

Nearly all of the West Coast ABC's that carry the Jeopardy!/Wheel duo delayed at least one of them to the 9-10 hour, although KXTV Sacramento bumped Wheel to 1:07 AM (replacing a news repeat) while Jeopardy! got the 9:30 PM slot. KXTV originally wasn't going to even air Wheel at all, but it popped up in their schedule just a couple days ago.

KGO San Francisco, similar to what they do on Saturdays, ran their local program "After the Game" through most of Jeopardy!'s 9:00 makegood time slot... but of course, rather than Jeopardy! getting skipped and moving on to Wheel as normally scheduled, it got moved on-the-fly to Wheel's time slot at 9:30, and rather than show Wheel afterward as well, it got completely skipped straight to the normally-scheduled rerun of Nightline.

In the Mountain Time Zone, KOTA in Rapid City moved Wheel immediately after the game at 9:30, with Jeopardy! bumped to 1:30 AM. Wheel got joined in progress before the Bonus Round because of the overrun.

KOMO Seattle, as they also do on Saturdays, scheduled news after the game at 8:30, Wheel at 9:00, and Jeopardy! at 9:30. The overrun pushed back all three programs by 22 minutes, but all of them ran for the full half hour.

KABC Los Angeles scheduled ABC digital program "More in Common" as filler programming at 8:30 rather than news or a syndie and was JIP'd, so both game shows were unscathed.

Tonight's Wheel was also pre-empted on KVII in Amarillo, TX (ABC) by the local Christmas parade, which aired from 6-7 Central. Wheel was bumped to 1:07 AM, replacing the fourth "D" run of Judge Judy (always a repeat).

The final SEC game on CBS was scheduled until 7:30 instead of the usual 7:00. Since that means WCBS and WFSB can't schedule the hour-long ET Weekend, WCBS instead put Inside Edition Weekend (which usually airs at 2:35 or 3:35 AM) at 7:30, and WFSB scheduled a local newscast, so no ET Weekend yesterday on either station (although WCBS' sister WLNY airs it at 11:00 PM).

Of course, the game overran into the 8:00 slot. Bull didn't start until about 8:11, from the beginning. CBS really ought to take a hint from ABC next year and add at least another half hour to their 3:30 games. Not a single CBS Saturday game ended on schedule this season.

ABC's final Saturday game also overran a bit. WABC news began at 11:12. Not sure how long KGO ran After the Game, but tuning at 7:50 PT, WOF Weekend was on, so either ATG only ran to 8:30 as normally scheduled or it ran half an hour and WOF was JIP'd.

CBS also has the Army/Navy game next week, and it starts at 3:00 ET/2:00 CT, but there is still a chance of overruns. But I agree that they should do like ABC and schedule the 7:00-7:30 ET time slot for overruns and postgame shows next season. I also think CBS should consider having more college football on Saturday nights instead of reruns and 48 Hours.

Do the networks have any say in how many games they can run in a certain time slot or is all that laid out in specific terms in their contracts with the NCAA and/or the conferences?

it amazes me how so many people complain about 60 minutes starting late. come on, guys it's nfl season.

The problem is that sports fans are a minority that many believe are over-served by television. In the newspaper business, I was told early on that only 30-35 percent of the readers follow sports -- a slight majority of the men and tiny minority of the women -- which is why it was to be kept off the front page and in its own section.

Well, it can be a bit of a drag if one DVR's the show and has to keep remembering to add 30+ minutes, or having to fast-forward through the playback.

Then again, I believe 60 Minutes can be watched free on demand, and segments are usually posted on CBS' YouTube by the next day.

Over-served? Sports as a broad category is lucrative and tremendously valuable. The whiners would do well to engage in a reality check and move on. (And I watch virtually no sports.)

I asked that question earlier this season and Unclehonkey answered that multiple games happen occasionally on ABC, but Fox has one nationwide game at a time, and I believe that happens on CBS as well: https://www.radiodiscussions.com/sh...easons-news-weather-amp-sports-reasons/page15

Both ABC New York and Philly are shipping tonight's Great Christmas Light Fight Episode off to the Live Well Network while they air the Giants vs Eagles MNF contest.

Are they doing the same for The Good Doctor as well? I imagine they are since there's no difference in either station's overnight lineup tonight. Although it doesn't really matter because that show is in repeats until January 13.

Today's coverage of the Impeachment Hearings ended around 2:24 PM Eastern on CBS and ABC. It lasted until 3:00 on NBC.

WABC New York aired Rachael Ray in full on 7.2 Live Well Network (listed as Episode 1 of Local-ish), and it was JIP'd on 7.1 ABC, so the second half aired simultaneously on both stations.

Due to the annual Wednesday's Child Adopt-a-Thon telethon broadcast live on WLKY Louisville (CBS), Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! were both moved to 32.2 MeTV last night in place of M*A*S*H.

Per several complaints on the station's social media, NBC affiliate WTWO in Terre Haute, Indiana accidentally aired the wrong episode of WOF last night; they aired last Monday's episode again by mistake.

How would WTWO do a make-good on that without creating a domino effect? Maybe it should just post all the answers from the missed show online: Phrase: NOTHING BETTER TO DO. Thing: OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDER. What are you doing?: LOSING BRAIN CELLS. Place: DANBURY CONNECTICUT.
