They preempted that for this?

How come these completely logical pre-emptions (such as for severe weather) are suddenly appearing in this thread again? I thought a separate thread had been created for them.

If you are in Hawaii all shows are being pre-empted for Hurricane Douglas.

In Texas all shows are pre-empted for Hurricane Hanna. Yes we are approaching hurricane season as it starts to ramp up in the next month or so.

Last night, after seeing your first post, I checked KHOU Houston a little after 8 PM Central out of curiosity. Magnum PI was airing as normal, without even so much as a crawl.

I just tuned into KHON/FOX Hawaii and coverage is on now as of 5 PM Hawaii time. Titan shows that they planned to run coverage from 6:30-9:00, with Wheel of Fortune moving earlier to 4:30 and the coverage filling the West primetime void left by MLB. 5:00 is listed as Paid Programming however and 5:30 is normally Family Feud. I'm assuming they launched straight into coverage after MLB ended, if they even aired the games at all.

Speaking of MLB, tonight's game overran roughly 40 minutes. Clippit (which now defaults to Philly affiliates instead of NYC) shows that WTXF's news began around 10:41 PM Eastern. Presumably, Ultimate Tag and the rest of the late night lineup will air delayed for stations that have hour-long 10:00 newscasts they need to make up.

WFTV ABC 9 in Orlando aired a State Attorney Debate tonight at 8:00 PM Eastern, pre-empting the 20/20 special on Regis Philbin. It is not being made up.
A local State Attorney race got a debate? I've never heard of state/local races below governor or congressman get their own debate. What other unlikely offfices get their own debate.

MLB has games tonight on FOX starting at 6pm CDT so much like when the NFL was on FOX there will be some syndicated pre-emptions to the 6-7 hour for FOX affiliates
(and if the games run long then there is syndicated programming after it that may get nuked) ;)

WJZY aired TMZ and Big Bang Theory five hours early today, at 2pm, but in reverse order, preempting TMZ Live. Will do the same next Thursday. I think they have done this before. Seems like they should air the shows at 3 or at 4, since Judge Mathis and People’s Court also air on WMYT. TMZ Live doesn’t have another airing on either station. Or better yet skip the regular 7:00 airing of TMZ since they air it again at 11:30 and WMYT also airs it at 11:30 am. BBT could air at 11pm and Extra could shift to 11:30.

If there's a rain delay, i wonder what FOX would do. If it's the Mets game, then they'd switch to Cleveland @ Minnesota.

Yeah and if it’s Cleveland-Minnesota, they’d switch to Boston-NYM. If both games got delayed/postponed they’d do studio highlights til 10 Eastern.

Last night, KETV ABC 7 in Omaha aired a special titled "Project CommUNITY: Race Matters in Massachusetts", originally produced by WCVB ABC 5 in Boston (both stations are owned by Hearst). Not exactly sure how it's relevant to air anywhere outside the state... It was originally scheduled to air both Wednesday and Thursday at 6:00 PM Central, pre-empting local news and bumping Wheel of Fortune to 7.2 MeTV. However, the special instead moved to 8:00 PM and only aired Wednesday, pre-empting The Conners and American Housewife with no make-goods (both were repeats).

Yesterday, a Buffalo Bills Training Camp special aired at 7:00 PM Eastern on five Upstate NY Nexstar stations. The following syndicated programs were pre-empted:

Syracuse/WSYR ABC 9: Entertainment Tonight - Pre-empted entirely. Does not re-air.

Watertown/WWTI ABC 50: The Big Bang Theory - Pre-empted entirely.

Elmira/WETM NBC 18: Jeopardy! - Moved to indie 18.2 replacing a repeat of 18.1's 6:00 news.

Buffalo/WIVB CBS 4: Wheel of Fortune - Moved to WNLO CW 23.

Rochester/WROC CBS 8: Wheel of Fortune - Bumped to 2:37 AM replacing Paid Programming.

Twins game on Thursday ran a smidge longer. FOX signed off at 9:06 CDT. Both KMSP Minneapolis and KEYC-DT2 Mankato had their newscasts clipped by those 6-7 minutes

The Red Sox/Mets game overran by over an hour. FOX signed off that game at 11:03 Eastern.

WNYW New York began their newscast at 11:08 and ran it for the full hour, with the late night programming delayed accordingly.

WTXF in Philly does 90 minutes of news from 10-11:30, so they did all 90 minutes and then JIP'd programming.

WDAF in Kansas City did not delay or interrupt any programming. Their first post-news program was Wheel of Fortune, bumped from 6:30 Central, which aired on time at 11:00. WLUK in Green Bay delayed WOF to 10:35 Central, but it was delayed about 35 minutes due to news. After WOF finished, they played catch-up with the rest of their lineup and the second of two DailyMailTV's was JIP'd.

WSOC pre-empted America’s Funniest Home Videos tonight for an Eyewitness News racism special. Not sure if WSB and WFTV did or not.

Anyone have a list of what FOX stations aired the Indians/Twins game last Thursday instead of Red Sox/Mets? I imagine WXIX in Cincinnati did since I saw that their makegood airing of Wheel of Fortune was about 7-8 minutes later than listed.

These DMA's carried the game
all in MN, ND, SD and OH (except for 2 counties in OH that are part of the Ft Wayne, IN DMA)
Michigan minus Flint and Alpena
Charleston, WV
Kansas City
South Bend, IN
Erie, PA
Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, and Quad Cities in Iowa
LaCrosse/Eau Claire and Wausau DMA's in Wisco
