They preempted that for this?

We could be looking at more preemptions with Trump's lawyers vowing to challenge results.

I don't see it going anywhere though.

However I can see Local TV stations covering celebrations/Pro-Biden side at the State capitals or Riots/Pro-Trump side in the same area. I know Phoenix area stations were reporting that Pro-Trump people were going to riot because the Ballots went to Biden and accuse Fox News of rigging the election for Biden. But wait Fox News cities AP for the Arizona Biden win until recounts were taking place.

I doubt it, unless something comes from it.

I agree the only remaining election to pay attention to at this point is here in California

https://www.sacbee.com/news/politics-government/capitol-alert/article246974032.html

There is speculation in Sacramento over who takes over VP Elect Kamala Harris soon to be former senate seat.
That is the only remaining election in 2020 to pay attention to. It will be discusssed on Local Sacramento news outlets as the last election for 2020.

According to the linked article, the governor picks her successor.

Under California state law, Newsom can fill Harris' seat for the remainder of her term, which ends in 2022. California is a solidly blue state, and it's highly probable the person he selects will win the seat outright in two years. Newsom does have the option of calling for a special election, but is not expected to do so.

I read that in this case the Governor appoints her successor but in past cases I heard of special elections being used for a situation like this. Note we have to wait on the Governors decision here I do not necessarily think Newsom's announcement would air nationally though but on local news outlets in the Golden State.

Primetime College Football shifted from OTA to cable?

My guess is Biden pushes Clemson/Notre Dame to NBCSN because NBCSN has reruns tonight. Stanford/Oregon goes to ESPNEWS because of rerun openings as well.

So how come last time NBC had a primetime Saturday CFB game, they still insisted on airing SNL on the dot at 11:30 (meaning 11 ET/8 PT newscasts had to be shortened or programming had to be JIP'd), yet this time, they're sliding everything?

They cut the news to 5 minutes. This was a big SNL that they didn't want to push back 50 minutes.

Not on the West Coast. Looks like they're showing an even 30 minutes of filler between CFB and SNL. Some are showing news. KNSD 7 in San Diego is showing some environmental special. KNVN 24 in Chico and KSBW 8 in Monterey are both showing Wheel of Fortune Weekend.

SNL is just finishing up the cold open at 12:25am EST in my area; from tweets, others got into the show sooner because people were discussing Chapelle's monologue which hasn't played here yet (as of this writing)

I went to bed but I assume WCNC went with the full 30 minute newscast. I think they would’ve tweeted otherwise.
