Fortunately, where I live, those shows are on NBC or CBS.

this won't be a problem in Dallas, as Wheel of Fortune & Jeopardy airs on the local CBS station KTVT and they air Jeopardy at 3:30 PM and 6 PM on KTVT and Wheel airs at 6:30 PM also on KTVT.

Speaking of preemptions in North Texas TV, KDFW, KXAS, WFAA and KTVT all preempted TV all afternoon before their 4 PM news due to breaking news of a apartment in Oak Cliff exploding causing a 5 alarm fire which was a deadly apartment explosion due to a natural gas leak.

Both on my NBC affiliate

This Tuesday the MN Twins are on broadcast TV. Pre-emptions (well just moving programming). Game is from 6:30-10pm with postgame
KEYC-DT2 FOX 12.2 Mankato moves Farmer Wants a Wife and Bear Grylls is Running Wild to 10 & 11PM
KXLT FOX 47 Rochester same thing
KVLY-DT2 CBS 11.2 Fargo moves NCIS programming (NCIS, NCIS Origins and NCIS Sydney) starting at 12:36AM
KBJR-DT2 CBS 6.2 Duluth same thing as Fargo.
KMSP FOX 9.1 Minneapolis moves programming to 10:35 at the earliest. Most other markets cut the postgame at 10pm to "keep on track" with programming. FOX 9 doesn't.
KYOU FOX 15 Ottumwa, IA moves FOX programming to 10:30 after news
FOX Western North Dakota (KFYR-DT2, KMOT-DT2, KUMV-DT2 and KQCD-DT2) same thing as other FOX stations. FOX programming will be on at 10PM
Other than KMSP which is a O&O, the rest are Gray owned stations

It means that Wheel is on the CBS affiliate and Jeopardy! on the NBC one. One place I can think of where this is the case is Minneapolis, where Wheel is on WCCO (CBS) and Jeopardy! on KARE (NBC).
My market (Mankato, MN) same thing. Jeopardy on NBC at 5 and Wheel on CBS at 6:30. Both stations Gray owns.

I didn't know the syndicators of that show would split them out like that. I always just assumed they came as a package deal (which, in a sense, with the Gray duopoly in Mankato, it would be).

There are plenty of markets where they are split and with different owners. Just going through local (to me) markets
In Minneapolis, MN Wheel is on WCCO CBS O&O and J! is on KARE NBC
Duluth, MN J! is on CBS and Wheel is NBC (same owners as CBS is a subchannel but has been like that for years...before the combination)
Fargo J! is on CBS and Wheel on NBC (before CBS moved as a subchannel/LP station it was different owners)
Rochester, MN both are on Allen owned CBS KIMT

It’s a very small number of markets in the grand scheme of things, and mostly smaller markets. It’s an exception, to be sure.

Des Moines has Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune but both the ABC and CBS affiliates carried Jeopardy when the NBC affiliate aired Wheel of Fortune

Heck I forgot that in Mankato the new episode of Jeopardy is on NBC but the rerun version is on FOX. I guess when Gray owns EVERYTHING in Mankato market (NBC, CBS, FOX, CW+ no ABC in market) they can put it where they want ;)
