They teach radio at Atlantic City HS

Atlantic City High School has its own radio station, WAJM 88.9 ..
Why wouldn't they have a radio course ? ..

hopefully the teaching is better. I havent listened to them in over a year, but the few times I did, students were horrible and it seemed that there wasnt any one, observing what they were doing. I remember a few years ago, some small station in the Atlantic City area wanted to take over the frequency after school ended, the school board almost voted it through, but then backed out at the last minute.

The last time WAJM 88.9 came up on this board, it was because it was operating without a license. It had not been renewed.

Now I know R-L database is not the most reliable, but according to it, WAJM expired in 2006.

Yes it did but they applied for an STA. I guess she was too busy teaching radio to renew the license.

Does anybody of high school age even listen to radio?

Will radio still be around when the kids taking this course are ready to start careers?

Yeah, the whole thing is, is that it would be better for a high school, or any school, to provide classes in subjects that may have a future. There are far less people working on air in radio now than there were 10 years ago. There will most likely be less 10 years from now. Do they also have a couse in stage coach driving?
