Thieves Strike Thrice in a Row at WMPR/Jackson

I have visited the studio several times and met the Evers family -- always been welcomed and had a great time hanging out and talking radio and music with the staff. It's clear they all believe in the station and it breaks my heart to see the damage that some punk-*** can do.

Station website, with stream: http://www.wmpr901.com/index.php#

Nice site, I'll have to give them a listen next time I'm in Jackson.

I take issue with their claim of off-air listeners in Grenada, though. 90.1 for me is nothing but IBOC/splatter from WMAV out of Oxford and WMAB out of Mississippi State. If they have off-air listeners in Monroe, LA and Grenada then I should be able to pick up WJMI in Bangladesh.

In Grenada you can pick them up with a directional outside antenna. I can pick them up here in Livingston, la all the time even with 90.3 being in Baton Rouge. I have a 210 mile VHF antenna outside with a 30 foot pole. Its one of the only Jackson stations I can pick up. I may be the person they consider to be in Hammond ;D..Its 30 miles away..

Is the Baton Rouge station running HD?

I'm pretty sure that WMAV is. If I tune to 90.1 or 90.5 I get static, 'cept it ain't quite normal static. Sometimes it even shows up on the "signal level" meter on my car radio. I was at the highest point in town last night and tuned around. 99.7 - check. Jack - check. But just "static" on 90.1.

My outside antenna can override digital hash. I can occasionally pick up 101.7 Jackson with 101.5 in HD right next to it. Digital hash without the outside antenna.

WMAV is running HD. I get a solid lock at the Tate-Desoto line when coming south on I-55. I have not checked where lock breaks to the south yet.
