Things Got Quiet in Alexandria

Things sure got quiet in Alexandria after some staff-shuffling. So who's gonna be up, who's gonna be down, etc.?

What's the scuttlebutt in Central Louisiana radio?

CenLa Communications lost the lease to KFAD because it's being sold to the owners of 102.3 (Urban)... But no word yet on the situation or what format is currently running right now.

Other that that, Kahuna must not have ticked off any people lately :)....

93.9 in Alexandria has been dark for three weeks now, no hint from anyone of a return anytime soon, they say it is not a technical glich, that it is a matter of money seeing as how Cenla Broadcasters owned everything that kept it on the air before they let it go. And off the air during the last half of ratings even! Gerald.

It was being sold to Urban (owner of KBCE 102.3)from underneath Cenla (Dave Graichen of Cenla spoke about it about a month ago) as Cenla had a LMA in place at KFAD and had 1st right of purchase.

But since it's off air technically, There has been no record of anything sent to the FCC to state as such...

Interesting saga going in Alexandria radio right now with this station and I've been intersted in keeping up with it

Thanks for the info

This situation has gotten stranger and stranger. We (Cenla Broadcasting) shut the station off the air on June 1st after we found out (through the trades) that the owner of the station, Woody Fryar had sold the station out from under us. Since then, we have not heard a word from Fryar. The equipment still is in the studio. Word is that Fryar never got a dime down from Urban Radio. Rumor also is they do not have a dime to put on the table, the invertors have backed out. It is sad, the station is missed. By the way, No one has informed the FCC the station is dark..

Shame really.... Hopefully Cenla Broadcasting is going to try to make the best out of this bad situation here in Cenla and buy it from Woody.
