Things i'd like to know questions..

I was just wondering .... I pretty well have guest that studio to transmitter links in years past and some current are done wireless. Was this only for FM stations or was this also done for AM stations ? Why i ask is that whatever is on 1060 ... the building is near the AM towers. But years ago 1310 ( when KZZP was on it ) was far away and kinda down a hill from the studio. Other stations in the valley I do not have knowledge of. Are any studio to transmitter site done by fiber now ? Also what range of freq. do they use between the two.
Thanks for the info ..

Geez beeline, are you an STL hacker or something? ;D

In the past, 15kHz phone lines were used in addition to microwave links.

IIRC, when KZZP 104.7/1310 moved from Thomas Mall/Phoenix to 727 S. Extension/Mesa,
it was still a bit farther than "up a hill" from the Mesa cemetery XMTR site. Or am I
forgetting an interim studio location in between these two?

Check this link for photos and info on how several PHX-area stations--AM and FM--
send program audio to their transmitter sites (T1 lines are also mentioned):
