Things in Nola/ Bayou market noticed

Sorry for not being on the boards lately , but tend to forget about the board as its not as popular as when I first started.

But traveling thru NOLA brought up a few things.

92.9 flipped with Its source 1350 WWWL back a few months ago but no one has gone to the tower site and updated RDS as still shows Hot 92.9 R&B .

La Calle 97.9 is listed as being fed now from KTIB 640 Thibodaux (The 103.7 rebroadcaster in Gray was turned off). So Spanish is technically been on the bayou for a few months again. (KJIN 1490 was español for a bit, but now is a R&B station simulating on 104.7).

Apparently the financial sting has been hitting Audacy (entercom) as only one of their stations was running a HD2 signal (last year all ran at least one HD2 signal). WEZB 97.1 is still running Channel Q on 97.1 HD2.

For those in New Orleans, when band conditions are good, The station on 102.7 is KLEB. 250 watts at 600 feet in Larose allows the station to hit the Westbank sometimes. Other than some Cajun shows, it's been running a classic hits style format (with newer songs than typical classic hits stations in rotation)

KTLN 90.5 Thibodaux is doing a full 100% simulcast of WWNO HD2 (Heard on 104.9 in NOLA) for a few months now.

106.9 KBRS Assigned to Belle Rose (Assumption Parish) has become a apparent classic R&B station. It was simulating KKAY

102.7 actually reaches Gonzales sometimes.

106.9 is classic RNB with some classic hits thrown in. I heard Norman Greenbaum Spirit in the Sky the other day.

92.3 is putting up a new tower.
It reaches my house now. No idea how lol.

1041 is id' ing as a Gonzales station.

I wonder if the transmitter and directional array at KTIB was ever fixed. I repaired the transmitter before leaving New Orleans and had it running at 1 kilowatt and it could do 5,000 into the dummy load but the directional array was so screwed up 1000 Watts is all I could get into it without the transmitter dumping off the air. George didn't want to spend the money for me to repair the DA.. then they LMAed the station to the La Calle group.. I didn't do any work on the station after that

I remember when 92.3 had such an incredible signal. It was easy to hear from New Orleans to Baton Rouge to Houma-Thibodaux and even around Lafayette.

I think Hurricane Ida messed things up too and radio companies didn't bother to get things back to 100% normal but hey that is just me.

I haven't seen anything in the way of FCC applications--hoping this happens soon. I'd really like to see that 2000' monster rebuilt but CW previously mentioned wouldn't happen (and he would probably know best).
A friend at the station said it would never be 2k feet again. But still says a new tower is coming soon. At least it would be clear in N.O again and the southside of BR
